Description Size comparison of large animals that lived in North America between 85 million years ago and 65 million years ago.
Upper row: Leptoceratops gracilis (small, primitive ceratopsian), Pachycephalosaurus wyomingensis (large, herbivourous dinosaur with thick bone dome atop it's skull), Didelphodon vorax (badger-sized carnivorous marsupial), Albertosaurus sarcophagus (large tyrannosaurid), Struthiomimus altus (omnivorous, ostrich-like theropod), Deinosuchus rugosus (giant alligator) and Ankylosaurus magniventris (huge armored dinosaur with bone club on a tip of it's tail).
Middle row: Triceratops horridus (huge, three-horned ceratopsian), Chirostenotes pergracilis (feathered oviraptorosaur with large head crest), Einiosaurus procurvicornis (large ceratopsian with forward-curving horn), Stegoceras validum (small thick-headed dinosaur), Styracosaurus albertensis (ceratopisan with long horns on it's neck frill) and Nyctosaurus gracilis (small toothless pterosaur with enermous head crest).
Lower row: Thescelosaurus neglectus (armored ornithopod), Tyrannosaurus rex (giant theropod, apex predator of Late Cretaceous North America), Troodon formosus (nocturnal, highly-intelligent theropod) Edmontonia longiceps (large nodosaur with massive shoulder spikes) and Parasaurolophus walkeri (hadrosaur with long head crest)
