Description
After drawing the main three PC gals (Lilitha, Tel, and Azita) from our three-years-running homebrew D&D campaign (which our DM lordzasz has titled ‘Hand of the Dragon God’), I decided to try my hand at drawing some of our most currently relevant friendly NPCs. This is most of our recurring characters from our recent arc in the capital city of Hyborea.

From left:

Max - Kobold cleric/fighter multi class. Lover of guest PC, Rekka. An incurable prankster and devoted evangelist for the dragon goddess, Amaru. Perhaps that’s why she blessed him with wings. Better at eye makeup than you.

Ashteroze - Minotaur cleric of Lathander. Head priest of the humble temple in the desert city of Sylvanito. Former girlfriend of PC Tel, former druid, formerly alive. Tragically disintegrated before Tel’s very eyes by the Demon Prince Orcus. Numero Uno on our list of ‘people to True Resurrect.’

Arhu - Tabaxi paladin-in-training, and softest boi. Childhood friend of PC Azita, he decided to forgo the cushy life of a son of nobility and make something of himself by joining the church of Lathander. He’s... not the best paladin yet, but bless him, he’s trying. Can’t hold his liquor.

Saul - High-elf rogue. Former tabaxi, former vampire. After he and Azita were killed in a mission-gone-wrong, they were both Reincarnated into high-elf bodies by a powerful divine relic. Catch was, sometimes the relic makes vampires. Was eventually cured through the judicious application of a different divine relic. Seems to have taken a liking to Azita, in spite of it all.

Kaz - Kobold wizard. Devoted citizen of the Dragon Empire, for better or worse. Lover of PC Lilitha, and father of her two children. Currently being held captive by the powerful cult that is pursuing Lilitha, along with their firstborn daughter. Hold on, Kaz, we’re coming for you!

Father Archibald Ciridae - Human cleric of Lathander. ‘Papa Ciri’ for short. Rescued the orphaned Azita as a child, and raised her in the church. Discovered dark dealings at the temple and was framed as a heretic and excommunicated. Then, to add injury to insult, he was murdered in the first session. Recently resurrected and ready to lay down ALL the exposition.

Barlow - A mysterious human bartender who keeps inexplicably appearing on our heroes’ journey. A Q-like figure, he was eventually revealed to be Harlequin, the chaotic neutral god of luck, who was cast out of the pantheon for reasons as yet unknown. Trying to quietly maintain the balance between good and evil on the mortal plane. Can’t quite shake his mischievous nature, though.

Meek - Goblin rogue and shrill disaster butler of our personal pocket dimension. Once a spy for the Goblin King, he took a shine to Lilitha and rebelled against his master. Lives in a pile of garbage and chews on the bones of our enemies (and occasionally the bones of friends we’re trying to resurrect). Always accompanied by Judgie-poo, his puppet.

Kris’ten - High-elf paladin and blacksmith for the church of Lathander. Master of the armory and your go-to gal for all your holy supply needs. Also a mark of what happens when you point out to your DM that a character token looks a little like you.

High Priest Lothar - Tabaxi cleric and the highest-ranking member of the Church of Lathander. Basically, he’s the Fantasy Pope. Calm, wise, and serene at all times, he is nevertheless a bit too trusting. Didn’t even notice when his three highest-ranking officials got murdered and replaced by shape shifting Elder Dragons. Roll higher on Insight, buddy.

May be drawing more of our NPCs and guest PCs in the future! Good practice for character design.

(Oh, and elves have tails in our campaign. Lore is that tabaxi and elves share a distant ancestor. But really it’s because most of the party are furries and insist on tails )
