Description
Second say in a row I've drawn a pair of young marginocephalians. Two juvenile male pachycephalosaurids play-fight. Not what you probably think of when you think "playing", but play in most animals seems to actually be a sort of built-in training for behaviours they will later in life. Combat is the most common of these.

Homalocephale calathocercos seems to be distinct from Prenocephale prenes due to assessments of what Preno-like pachycephalosaurids, based on Stegoceras validum, look like as they develop. None of them look precisely like Homalo, but when they do there are still major distinctions in their cranial morphology. So Homalo has some autapomorphic features despite being non-adult.

Always loved these creatures as a kid. 6 in skull is tough to beat! Not personally a fan of the feathers but this is a very good sketch. Well done!
