Description
'In my relaxing walk throughout the husk that used to be the place filled with traffic and the peak of civilization, i sometimes like to close my eyes and listen to the wind breezing through the empty building, it creates that eerie moaning sound. Something akin to a ghost city. I make my way through alleys, climb down rusty ladders and go down through stairs to get down here..meeting this piece of work face to face. A tree, proudly blooming to prove it's existence to the universe. That despite all odds, it will rise. Now it has completed it's mission... maybe one day the tree will die and succumb to it's broken surroundings... but as long as the sun shines bright at the it. I believe it will one day dominate this whole factory.'=
Hello there!
thank you very much for reading the story i hope you enjoy another addition of Dr.Rabbit and his tales. This time i was a bit inspired from the industrial ruins and something akin to hashima island or kowloon walled city but more densely packed and lack any kind of soul. Adding a really obvious vocal point to draw the eyes of the viewer too. It feels good to be able to do something architecture-ish again, something that is not the usual scenery paintings and such. Do tell me what you think about this, how you see it, interpret it and all of that. Feedbacks are also appreciated
Thank you very much and i hope you have a nice day!

This is such a pretty picture and story. When I saw it it made me think that even though sometimes the world can be scary and sad (the factory) there is always light at the end of the tunnel (the tree). Thank you for making my day! I obviously favorited this and followed you!

I don't want to say that it's deep or anything, maybe it's just a way Dr.rabbit puts it. He likes to ponder about things like this on his traveols

Great picture Tom, showing that nature will always reclaim what is left behind, even if the version of nature might not be so friendly to the survivors of an apocalyptic event. Here your tree is a symbol of hope, something we recognize and can relate to.

Mhmm, no matter what, it will always stay there and continue to branch out as long as the sun shines on it!
Thank you for the kind words

Whoa! Few years ago I made similar painting also inspired by Hashima island, cool to see your depiction!Β
I really like heavy architecture going on in the backround, which indeed looks soulless, just like you described.

Yeah; but there's a chance for a brighter future. That's what I loved about Wall-E and this painting; the optimism.

But how do they breath on earth when all the plants are gone?

o-SarahBear-o In reply to prohacker16 [2019-02-17 06:21:12 +0000 UTC]
I'm assuming they have an oxygen supply on the ship, which they could use with gas masks to breathe in until they either run out of that oxygen supply, and/or they can grow enough plants to produce a sufficient amount of oxygen. Although, given that the cockroach is alive and all, there might be some other plants (like, say, some grass in other parts of the world) that produce some level of oxygen, even if it's not the same potency as our current atmosphere. Either way, it would probably take a long time for there to be enough oxygen to breathe.Β
That, or it's a detail they didn't really think about when making the movie, lol.Β

Excellent piece! I almost feel like this is exactly why the Doc is on his journey. He's searching for life adapting in the ruins of a once great civilization. Cataloging everything he finds. His kind now live in a massive mega-city structure in some secluded part of the world, or even off-world. Doc is down there doing research for his people. I know that probably isn't the case, but it makes for an interesting story to me.

Oooh that's an interesting interpretation! I mostly leave Doc's backstory and what his journey really meant in the end ambiguous so you are up to create that stories and scenarios in your mind Let your imagination run wild!
And thank you for the kind words!
