In 2022, when I was so high and optimistically naive about recasting Suki Lane from Sing 2, a critic character not meant to be enjoyed and cherished like the main cast, I thought she'd be perfect for Erica Van Helsing in 's Hotel Transylvania 3 fanmake, "Hotel Catsylvania 3", without taking into serious account. But after taking future possibilities and criticism into future account, I just created a clone of her and lazily changed a couple of her features (because I thought most of her design seemed to perfect to completely alter) so I could have my own version of her that's not bound by whatever Illumination may do with her that I won't agree with, and would be justifiable to act differently than her canon counterpart.

Reasons:

1. Because like Erica, her canon counterpart started out as secondary antagonist but reformed in the end (for now, anyway, but it depends on how the writers feel about her or what ).

2. Because her canon counterpart's already (currently) unspoken for, unless you count the OC suitors, and will most likely remain that way if she's made aroace queen (because people want more of that rep in cartoons, even in the form of a pretty tan dog lady)...or if not to obstruct other fans' headcanons. If any of that's the case, here we have Esme aka Sukey.

3. Because before seeing several other headcanons, I imagined Suki not being too picky about being a cat's love-interest, despite how Salukis aren't the best breed of dogs to be around cats (yet Rita cared deeply about Oliver). But since Suki is deemed unimaginative and Illumination will most likely keep her that way, she wouldn't agree to starring in a remake of a film, and since she's not nice to Jerry, here we have her twin who tolerates remakes and cats.

4. Because she has a pleasing design to be someone's love-interest, even if it's rival at first. The writers may have thought of her to be a caricature, but I still say she should work as a love-interest.

5. Because in the field of recasts, she was up for grabs as Erica. Everyone automatically picks a main character for a role and never a side character.

6. Because her body height and build almost matches Erica's.

Because since her canon counterpart is not shown to act cheery to keep up appearance towards the main characters nor to be into guys (leaving anyone to interpret anything), and as there are certain things I'm still attached to and have a hard time letting go of for someone else's benefit (I've already done that with other things), win-win. So hope this justifies the choice.
