Description
As I progress in my plannings of a Shen-centered fic, I noticed the need of an army/guards for the Fei Cuí (emerald) province.
The pretentious rulers of the province, the green peacocks, required worthy servants, in appareance and skills, and that which would come in masses.

The decision of an animal for that role was pretty easy, as what would possibly make better guards for the gem-filled province than magpies?
At first thought they are pretty simple looking, common birds, but magpies can look really beautiful, especially when they have tail and wings spread out, and the black reflects shades of green. Magpies are very intelligent too (t.ex. one of the few animals than can recognize itself in a mirror), which makes them even better for the role.

So, here's a Royal guard of Fei Cuí palace, a magpie with gold-plated body armor and -helmet. The emblem in the back is the symbol of the Emerald peacock clan.
Only the palace guards wear golden armor, common soldiers have normal grey metallic armor. The guards are armed with spears good for both slash and stab attacks.
