Blackscale

Although they were Orcale's younger sister, Blackscale was drastically different in appearance and behaviour. Like her parent, her skin was like a void, sucking in all surrounding light, however, Blackscale's body compensated for this, displays of illuminated light covering Blackscale in beautiful patterns and in bulbs at the end of various growths covering her body.
Blackscale was introverted and shy, prone to panic attacks causing her to hide away from all contact with her siblings. But Blackscale was also bitter; resenting them for their ability to interact with each other.
Even her younger brother, prone to violent fights and arguments with others, didn't seem to feel the same pain she did when voicing her opinion.

When Orcale announced she would serve as a guardian to all across the ocean, Blackscale felt conflicted. She wanted to help but at the same time felt useless in her abilities. Orcale reassured her and suggested she help guard the bottom of the ocean, where Orcale's eyes couldn't adjust to the darkness but Blackscale's lights and unique body shouldn't have any problem adapting.
Blackscale felt confident at this point, obeying her older sister's wishes. She swam to the bottom of the ocean and used her lights to monitor the area. Unfortunately, Blackscale's weakness returned, nagging at her mind and harrassing her relentlessly. After a certain point, Blackscale was persuaded that returning to Orcale and the surface would bother others, that her siblings hated her and simply wanted her to go away, and developed a severe phobia of the sunlit ocean.
Blackscale never returned to the surface.

I really wanted to draw another picture of Blackscale, I've had this design done for a while now..but I really haven't felt like drawing her but at the same time I wanted to share her story and that is probably the main point of why I'm posting these. I want people to better understand the nature of the universe in which Mermadiles live in. They are very spiritual and share these kinds of stories to explain their creation and life lessons.
I almost wouldn't be opposed to commissioning someone else to draw her up because I'm really not patient enough to have and draw detailed characters ~_~

There is still one more major lore story I would like to submit before I would feel comfortable opening the group I've been planning and selling more adoptables in batches or holding an event.
