Description: The Masked inquirer or Masked coroner (Korakexypnos teretos) is a large (6.4 meter wingspan) Common Raven descendant native to Syren's reach forests and shrublands. These rare birds are social animals which either live alone or in familiar groups, although most time those might be sparsely separated from each other. The social skills of these animals are specially noticeable in the art of gossiping, where information might travel fast between each other. To start gossiping, an inquirer might do a little pose and start making a specific call for any close by individual (which might be as far as a few kilometers away). Gossips can be about many things, a corpse somewhere, a dying animal, or an individual that has just died. The Masked inquirer is an omnivorous bird, that feeds on berries, leaves, but mostly, meat. They are competent ground hunters, similarly to Earth's Caracaras and Teratornids, ambushing and chasing down prey, but it's not uncommon to see them hunting larger prey together with other inquirers. Sometimes these animals also like to have a little treat, in which they might steal honey from bumblebee nests using simple tools like sticks. They are slow to reproduce, with a reproductive cycle happening every 2-4 years, in which they lay a single egg. They are socially monogamous similarly to modern ravens, and although they are mostly separated, whenever they are together they will try to bond with each other. The inquirer's courtship includes bringing gifts, calling to each other, flapping their wings and showing the blue slightly iridescent inner parts of their wings.
