Description
Sandy BeachesWhite and glittering
Blowing in the hot wind
Sloping down toward
The softly lapping wavelets
of red
Of rouge: frothy and dark,
almost black.
Staining the porcelain sands.
Turning their innocent
twinkling
into a gruesome, gaudy display.
Gleaming evilly as they congeal
Caking the sand together
into crusty puddy.
Surging waves now,
beating harder, relentless
against the beach
that is slowly changing color
as the scarlet tide rises.
Winds pick up, whipping the
remaining white specks
into a frenzy.
They fly about madly
trying to flee the
deliberate, steady, spreading
pool of blood
Of lies, of tears left unshed.
Of tortured cries that
will never ring into the night.
Silent pleas for help.
Purity is lost to the encroaching
pool of Doubt.
