Description
Another random drawing prompt: this time it's the Egyptian god Anubis, in a modern style. I went through various forms of Anubis:
- In a suit, with a tablet, checking names
- In a suit (or otherwise) behind a desk with a computer
- Some others that didn't last long enough to be worth mentioning

The catch with these is that they didn't really capture the sense that I had of Anubis: he is (in very simple and half-informed terms) the Egyptian version of the Grim Reaper, who exists to guide the dead to whatever is next. Not evil, not nasty, just having a job that is to convey people from one place to another. Taxi driver might have worked, and might have been a good test of my (limited) ability to draw a car, but I instead went with something that felt more... Personal.

So here we have The Modern Anubis: decked out in tan chinos and a blue First-Of-The-Loom polo shirt, complete with some more traditional Egyptian decorations, with a sign making it very clear who he is waiting for. His expression turned a tad more sinister than I intended... But that might just have been the fact that I did the inking as something to do in the middle of a power cut.

There is a plan for colouring this on the computer. We'll see what happens there.
