Lol, well it's funny cuz since I can't play ps2 games on my ps2 I've been playing ps1 games, and ripto's rage is actually the one I've been playing. ^^ Mostly, because you don't have to be the stupid monkey like in the third one, and you don't die from touching water like in the first one! Win win win!

Yeah, you were really limited in the first spryo game. Especially considering you're a freakin dragon and all. -_- I guess they explain away Spyro's inability to fly as the fact that he's too small/young to do so, which is fairly legit considering Spyro is a kid dragon. But not being able to swin is total crap, especially cuz in the second game you can not only swim but you can power dive and breath underwater. oO Lol!
Actually, the newest spyro game is the most dragonlike Spyro has eve been really, considering you can fly at any time, your fire breath is actually a stream of fire, and you can attack with your claws. However, they did take away Spyro's horn drill charge attack, which has been a staple throughout the games... and it allowed you to run twice your normal speed indefinately (so long as you didn't run into anything) which was really nice.

They are classics! ^^ But spyro is definately a girl's game series. lol! My brother's hated it but it's still one of my top two favorite series ever (tied with kingdom hearts! ^^) At least, the original three are. After that they're a bit wierd. The next gen ones that they made (new beginning, eternal night, and dawn of the dragon) are alright, but they're extremely cheesy (even worse than the old ones considering they're supposed to be serious) and they don't have quite the same charm as the classic ones. Although, dawn of the dragon is just fun to play for the fact that you can fly around. I mean, who doesn't like that?

I agree, but I'd rather fly around with rocket boots! And I'm surprised that Spyro is more of a "Girl's" game to be honest! (Kingdom Hearts was an obvious appeal for Final Fantasy fan girls, that was a no-brainer!)
And yeah, "original charm" seems to be the "Lost Gold of El Dorado" nowadays in the gaming world!

Oh yeah, KH is totally for girls. Who else would want the ability to summon tinkerbell and run around all day inside a winnie the pooh story book? ANd why does it surprise you that spyro is more for girls?

Yeah, I haven't seen the other avatar movie (the one that is spurring on fanart like a cowboy in a cattle drive -_-) but I would like to see it at some point... even if it is just a beefed up version of Dances with Wolves.
