First Impression: Absolutely stunning. The tone you chose here just couldnt be better, not even in black in white.

Second Impression: The detail on the face and in the wardrobe speak numbers to the beauty of our individuality. We are all so different, yet, still connected as One. We all are separate, like fingers, but we are all still connected to The One Hand.
We can see differences in this shot, yet are easily able to see this man at this moment of time as being : mysterious, magical, wise, beautiful, inspiring, proud, caring and so many others of which I have not named, and so many more which words fail to properly convey. Its amazing how, through a camera at the hands of a soul who sees beauty(you in this case), can express such a message to another.

Third Impression: Abah serves as an example of why we should all cherish human crafstmanship over things done by technology, such as, mass production. Hand-crafted goods and the people whom make them are threatend by corporations mass producing products by machine which serve the same purpose but generally not as expensive. This goes for all things : from the clothes we buy down to the food we eat. I know I'd rather eat a nice home cooked meal than a frozen dinner or fast food. I'd also rather have my tombstone carved by such a man, over having it carved by some emotionless contraption.

Final: I rarely ever fav. DD's, as the majority get enough of them and on a few occasions arent even worthy of one. But this deviation has been one of the best i've seen all year. Straight up, its a beautiful moment of time captured for the rest of time to see, feel, ponder, and enjoy.

So, fav this, watch you, and ima take a stroll through that gallery of yours.

Peace.

There's something about this picture that appeals to me. I think its the foriegn concept. My american upbringing hasnt allowed me to be exposed to anything else, and the IDEA of learning, seeing, feeling something new makes my heart skip a beat.

We have no "wise men" in america, I fear. We have nothing even close to it, in my opinion.

Amazing culture shot.

I faved the other version of this about 10 months back... good to see some better recognition for it, I always loved these photos

I'd say the focus was better here - the background more blurred, the lines on his face more visible, and his expression seems melancholy here, as if he's looking out on the world with a great sadness.
I have to say, I prefer the pose of old man though, with him looking into the camera - it draws you in more, makes you feel like his attention is solely on you, which is a rather disturbing sensation from a photograph, to be honest

Composition & lighting are spot on, not much to say there

It's the atmosphere that these photos give off that I love most - that feeling that he's weathered the storm for so long, and is now just leaning back and watching instead of fighting his way through it. It's the wisdom and respect of years that surrounds him and has shaped him so visibly.

I cant really judge portraits because i dont know anything about it.
But this one is really impressive. Its the mans aura, his facial
expression and all the details around and on his body that keeps me
exploring this beautiful image.

The DD-feature is more then deserved.
