Flora Fields was bad. But this? This was even worse. So many wolves here were too old, too young, or too injured to fight off an assault such as this.
Stick together.
Marrok was teetering on the edge of being "too old" - not that Balduin would ever dare tell him this and he would never admit it. He wasn't going to hide in the den and have anybody else risk their lives for him if he wasn't willing to do the same - so he had to fight.
Stick together.
As long as they stayed close to one another, protected one another they would be okay, right?
