Personality/Background:

Lunar never understood his parents, and he never has. He still doesn't understand why they want to keep their marriage so secret from everypony they know. He believes it's because his father is supposedly evil, and his mother is one of the rulers of Equestria, which has been a sole rival of him since his defeat thousands of years ago. Though, Lunar still doesn't get it. He believes his father has reformed, and is no longer evil considering he loves Luna dearly. However, Lunar is still kept secret, as is their marriage, and because of this he doesn't have very many friends and doesn't know many ponies. He is sometimes seen in a completely depressed state, and acts very formal whenever he does encounter another pony. He doesn't understand how to be casual.

He is homeschooled because of his powerful magic, and his relation to the two strongest night magic users in Equestria and beyond. It would be very obvious to other ponies who his father is because of his eyes, and who is mother is because of his coat color and cold attitude. It would be even more obvious because of how formal he is, which only princes and princesses can be like that unless they were 'trained' or grew up to be like that. Unfortunately, the 'necklace' that he wears is also the only thing that keeps his magic in complete control. Without it, he goes completely insane, and destroys anything in a mile's radius.

In his current state as a teenager, he has learned to better control his magic, and he has finally been free of being a secret, or as his parents call it, shadow foal. He goes to school with some other ponies that he knows, and he has made more friends. They've taught him how to act 'normal,' and he's always thanking them for it. He's acting less and less prince-like every day, and he's happy with it being like that since he had such a rough childhood.

Relationships:

His relationship with his parents still isn't that strong even though they were always together most of his life. He believes that they thought he was a mistake, even though he knows it isn't true, and his family didn't want to ruin their reputation and romance. Lunar has tried making up for everything and making them feel happy since ponies now know they are married, and he's tried making them happier even though some ponies don't agree with it, including Princess Cadance and Shining Armor.

Lunar has never had a love-like relationship, since most ponies either dislike him or are afraid of him. He has his own crush, however, he just refuses to reveal it.

Special:

-Lunar has the ability to predict when, where and why an eclipse will happen at any given moment. He also has enhanced vision at night, even during an eclipse. This ability is shown to be used by the purple flames that appear at the sides of his eyes. He can use this ability in dark places as well, to give himself a sort of 'night vision.'
