Description
The contestants return to the game with the knowledge that at the end, they will have to make their first Deza-Star vote, eliminating one player from the game on suspicion of sabotage. The players are not told the rules of the game, only that there are four Jyamato loose in the game area that carry clues to their victory. The Navigator also tells them that an optional side quest exists within the game, but that it is very dangerous and they should prepare themselves if they wish to attempt it.The players enter the game area and are immediately set upon by Jyamato, with Prima spotting one that has a bag slung over its shoulder running away from the fray. She chases it, while Rabid and Kodai fight their way through the Jyamato, and Swerve breaks off to seek out the side quest. Walla notices him sneaking off and tries to follow, but finds a Clue Jyamato herself and faces it down. Prima defeats her own target and recovers a key from its pouch, embossed with the letter S.
Prima then catches up with Walla, and watches her deftly defeat her Clue Jyamato foe with the powers of the Conjure Buckle. Prima applauds her on how quickly she mastered its abilities, but Walla shrugs off the compliment and suggests they catch up with Swerve. Having found a large, open plaza, Swerve sees Blacktop standing in the center and accepts his challenge of combat. Swerve is quickly overpowered, but is able to use his creativity and nimbleness to even out the fight.
Just as Swerve is about to deliver the final attack, Walla uses her magic to teleport in front of him and attack first, trying to steal the prize for herself. Blacktop rejects her maneuver, telling her that he is addressing Swerve's challenge at the moment, and suggests she wait her turn. Blacktop then allows Swerve to deliver his attack, leaving only the Arcade Claw Buckle and Titan Clip behind. Swerve takes the Buckles and uses their power to fend off the Jyamato while Rabid and Kodai acquire the other keys.
The Riders convene at the plaza and discover a pillar with four keyholes in it, and realize the keys are labeled with the cardinal directions. The players begin to debate how to tell which way to place the keys, when Swerve has an idea and switches to Magnet Form, using it to deduce magnetic north and arrange the keys accordingly, ending the game. The Navigator appears and asks for them to vote on the Deza-Star, and Swerve votes for Walla, since she tried to steal his win against Blacktop. Prima agrees, suggesting that Walla mastered the complicated Conjure Buckle rather quickly for a new player, and this convinces the other players to join in.
Walla is eliminated, but the Navigator will not confirm whether or not she was the Deza-Star. The other players begin to isolate further, certain that if they had found the mole, there would be no reason to keep it secret. The Navigator and the Game Master discuss their distaste for the new rules, but that these decisions happen over their heads, and it was in their best interest to play along. A young girl with bright orange braids in her hair enters the game salon, asking the Navigator and GM if they know what the Producers have in mind for the players, flashing her ID card...
