(WARNING: if you aren’t advertised into the MegaMan lore and all of its intricacies, there may be certain details brought up you might not understand. Be warned.)

Name: Anthem

Mental Age: 10 years old

Gender: Boy

Background: With the growing threat of Dr.Wily’s attacks on the world being more and more prevalent, And with Rock (also known as the one and only MegaMan), being preoccupied with said attacks, Dr.Light decided to create a new helper robot, and brother, so he can better support MegaMan when he’s out saving the world (y’know, make special weapons for him, and help navigate stages and all that), as well as be more efficient with his work (Since MegaMan is still technically a helper robot by default). But on one fateful day, in one of Wily’s attacks on the city, The unthinkable happened. Unknown how or why to the world, but MegaMan has finally been bested by Dr.Wily and his army, and was kidnapped to parts unknown. Of course the world was trembling in fear at the thought of their champion being in the hands of evil....

Unless you were Anthem who went outside into the field of battle to try and stop it himself (Despite various warnings from Dr.light), taking a mere plasma gun with him that Light was working on. And despite his best efforts, he got whooped pretty bad, knocking him out. Fortunately, it wasn’t the end of the line for him there. As he woke up in a new lab unfamiliar to him. And he met a young scientist named Dr.Stella Shine, and her Robot assistant/Best friend, Clyde, who said that they found him knocked out while trying to escape the trouble brewing in the city. And fixed him up. Anthem explained that he needed to go back out there and save the city from destruction and while it took a bit of convincing for them, Dr.Shine and Clyde reluctantly let Anthem do his thing, And he ridded the city of Wily’s minions for good that time! But it was only a slight victory as shortly after, Dr.Wily made a message saying that he was sending out 12 new Robot masters to bend the world to his will, and of course, this compelled Anthem to go out and save the world, but Dr.Shine stopped him obviously a dinky little plasma gun wasn’t gonna get him far. He needed to be stronger, and more prepared for battle. So to the best of her Ability, Dr.Shine (and with assistance from Clyde) attempted to Turn Anthem into a super fighting robot (like his brother before him). It was hard work since she wasn’t experienced in doing something as insane as this, but she pulled it off, and Anthem was born into a new hero. With all that said and done, he took off to go stop the Robot Masters, Wily, and Save His brother MegaMan.

Specifications: The Anthem Buster is a little different from the Mega Buster. It can store up energy in it to release a stronger shot. But unlike it, The Anthem buster is able to shoot off more bullets than usual. Up to like 5 (or 4. Haven’t decided that yet.) as well as being able to hold a lot more power. It makes it so the A.Buster is able to shoot a bigger and stronger charged shot than most. Although, there are a couple of set backs. For 1, it takes a real long time to get up to that level. And using said blast a lot, tends to not be that good for Anthem’s internal systems, leaving him more exhausted, and wide open for attack. So it’s advised that Anthem doesn’t use it much.

Anthem wasn’t initially programmed with the variable weapons system in mind, so Shine had to create one of her own, while time consuming, it proved to be really effective almost working as well as MegaMan’s does. This of course means that Anthem is able to copy the weapons of robots, he defeats, and use those weapons to his advantage. He’s also equipped with dash boots to help him move faster, but unfortunately, they weren’t fit in very well, only allowing Anthem to move a slight distance. Although it can be used as a slight maneuvering tool to quickly dodge enemy attacks, but not useful for momentum based feats like Bass in MegaMan and Bass and 10 as an example.

Character study: Now Anthem here is a loveable goofball. He loves to have fun, and always has something witty to say. Especially to the various Robot masters he comes across. It may come across as if he doesn’t really care about his mission. But don’t be mistaken. Anthem is a reliable guy, who’s always willing to go out and right a wrong. When Anthem has a mission, he may joke and laugh about it along the way, but he’ll face it down with determination and confidence. When he sees injustice, he doesn’t tend to stand around, kinda like MegaMan. Although..UNLIKE him, Anthem, can be quite pushy sometimes. He’s a very reckless and spontaneous guy, and usually that can land him into trouble frequently. He’s also known to get a bit harsh and when there’s serious stakes, and can get worked up a lot without seeing a more reasonable conclusion. But usually that’s due to his determination to get the job done, and reach his goals. (One of which happens to be saving MegaMan). Despite some of his more off putting traits. Anthem is a good dude, with a strong will. He’s always willing to go help people out and face down the problem head first, and have fun doing it too. When trouble strikes, you can always count on Anthem to be one of the first responders.

Trivia: Anthem wasn’t always named “Anthem”. He was previously known as Axsus. The name change to a music reference to line up with the series more, since it’s known for naming it’s characters after music puns.

Anthem was previously supposed to be a hyperactive character due to some glitches being done in his programming. But after a long time of thinking, i reworked the story and personality into what you see now.

Anthem is one of the first MegaMan OCs i ever made (in case you forgot).

But it was WORTH IT. Finally glad to get this out after all this time. Now you guys know a whole lot more about Anthem. And don’t worry. This isn’t the last you’ve seen of him.
