The only holiday that happened was Nepeta day.

I'm feeling particularly anti-American this year, and I'm kind of pissed off at how the fireworks freaked my cat out. It's been especially hard lately because I'm at the age where I'm starting to want children, and I live in the US where all the Roe v Wade shit is going down. Plus we've had mass shootings every week this year so far I think. And hearing devastation in the news every single day over issues that could be worked through if we didn't have such tonedeaf leaders takes enough of a toll on me that I have to know when to put blinders on for my own mental health. But it still doesn't help that I worry about my adult friends in the current housing/renting market or my family's deteriorating health.

I feel like these are things that everyone in my age group is thinking about, and I know I'm not alone. But I guess I feel like it's important for other people to have that comfort too; that in this shitty, unsupportive world, that there are people out there that understand you and won't think you're annoying when you talk about your feelings. And that's a HARD thing to fully accept. The world feels like it's against you, and that makes you feel like YOU are against you too. But once you are able to start taking steps to not feel unwarranted guilt for just for reaching out to a loved one, it opens up more doors not just for self love, but also for a more fulfilling relationships with those willing to hear you.

It's very late at the time of posting this, and I'm realizing now that I've described my moral compass on a Homestuck fanart. Some things never change lol
