I got to this design and realized I had to make some changes to how I was approaching all of these designs. New rules: Cards 1-5 represent one day, cards 6-10 a second day. Thus, sunrise on the Ace and card 6 and a night card on 5 and 10. The sun will move across the card's "sky" from 2-4 and 7-9. This adds a narrative element. Now, there cannot be stars when it's day. So cards ace, 2, 3, and 4 lost their stars. Another new rule is the only elements breaking the inner boundary of the frame's upper section can be skeletons and eyes. Rule 3, nothing breaks the silhouette of the whole frame. Rule 4, nothing passes over the line between the title box and the design frame. Rule 5, nothing goes in front of the number on top. I've added a sun/moon and rays or horizontal lines to all the cards now. I also added a landscape to every design and simplified the designs a bit. I'm currently redrawing my skeleton puppet. Maybe I will create animated gifs in the end. IDK how to do that, but it's on my self-learning bucket list anyway. So here is revision number 3 for the Three of Cups. I will be posting the rest of the updated cards ace through 5 as well. I am hoping to eventually release a coloring book on top of prints, t-shirts, and a playable deck. Follow along as I go through all 72 cards from digital sketch to finished ink drawing. Ultimately, my plan is to release a full deck that you can play through or use for cartomancy.
