Description In 1999, the wreckage of a prototype tank was discovered by a team of US Army Rangers, in the nuclear disposal facility "Shadow Moses" in Alaska. It is surmised that this weapon of mass destruction was designed in a joint project between Armstech and DARPA, and was undergoing collection of test data at Shadow Moses before the facility was seized by ex-Foxhound mercenaries supported by the Next Generation Special Forces.

Further, illegally distributed data regarding this tank, called Metal Gear Rex, was resulting in copies being designed and distributed around the world. These copies, despite many flaws, were immediately being released in battlefields all over the world to compete with America's technology and firepower.

With America already under heavy scrutiny for the development and possession of a weapon of mass destruction that violated several arms reduction treaties, Canada and Germany were charged with the task of developing countermeasures against what would be known as "Pirate Gears".

Enter the Gear Jammer. Smaller versions of Metal Gear, produced in slightly higher numbers and designed for an infantry support role, the Gear Jammers are designed to engage and occupy a Pirate Gear while their supporting infantry squadrons engage the enemy's ground forces. With this teamwork, even the most powerful of Pirate Gear task forces is quickly threatened.

Shown here is the Light Gear Jammer, undergoing maintenance between sorties. Its armament consists of two 20mm cannons firing tungsten-core shells capable of penetrating up to a foot of homogenized composite armor. Secondarily, it is also equipped with six crew-served mini-silos which can fire a combination of semi-guided anti-personnel or HEAT warheads. In addition to this, the crew (up to four) riding in the back may also engage enemy infantry with personal weapons.

wow! great background, i also am a fan of MGS
That looks pretty cool, though it may be a good idea to design a covering part for the back so that the crew/personel can be defended more. Great design, I want to see other versions

wow...

huh, an MGS fan eh?

you did an incredible job on the background and description of the image, as well as the gear itself, artistically, the only thing i'd try redoing would be the decals, they don't map along the flat surface that well.

the level of detail used here is great, high enough, but not so much as to overpower it.

kinda wish it had arms, but i'm one of those who likes the anthropomorphic mecha.

yeah, methinks i'm going to fav this.
