quirk description : His power comes from singing. When he sings it affects all those who hears it, the effect is as strong as how loud his voice is to the target. Victims are subject to different effects depending on the song he sings.

Like an incredible street performance, the sound of his voice puts those who hear it in a trance, making them drop whatever they’re doing to follow his singing.
drawbacks: cannot be used as a means of escape (because victims are attracted to the singing and will follow).

the effect of his ability is dependent on the volume that the victims can hear it
if they can hear him loud and clear, it is very effective
if they are further away or his voice is muffled from their ears in some way then the effect is weaker
if they are deaf or their ears are sound-proofed then they are not affected at all
overuse results in sore throat and loss of breath
ability does not work on those who are: deaf or have absorption abilities.

Despite his seemingly closed-off exterior, Chi has a gooey warm centre that can’t leave someone alone if they’re sad or in-need. He can be very empathetic towards others, even if he doesn’t want to be.

Chi can be very observant and attentive to the needs of other people. He can remember trivial facts about others, such as the way one likes their eggs cooked, or something about what they said last year.

Chi thinks about his actions with careful consideration, weighing in the pros and cons before deciding to do something. That is not to say that he will not do something if it outweighs the cons, depending on the importance of what is at stake, but simply that he will consider all aspects of a situation.

Although, he tends to be more expressive when he’s in the private presence of those close to him, such as his family.

Born to a lovey dovey couple, and an equally lovely older sister, Chi’s life has relatively been peaceful thus far, in the sunny city of Emcaha, Miami. They were neither rich, nor poor, but sat comfortably in the middle, living above their cosy cafe within the bustling metropolis. He could be described as the ‘black sheep’ of the family, for being a generally quiet and less expressive boy in contrast to the rest of them who are much more loud and rowdy, but he is happy nonetheless.
From a young age they discovered little Chi had a talent for singing. When his dad was playing the guitar and singing one day, Chi started singing along with him and impressed the family. Once he got a little older, and big enough to hold a kid's guitar in hand, his father started teaching him how to play. Those Sunday afternoon guitar lessons have become Chi's favourite memories with his dad.
He may have been a happy boy at home, but at elementary school was a different story. When you’re small and quiet and unassuming, you’d think you’d be able to live life peacefully unnoticed. However, Chi caught the eye of some not very nice children. They took advantage of him, which wasn’t very difficult to do since he didn’t really refuse or fight back. When you’ve only ever known the love and kindness of family, you too would be naive to the cruelty of the world. When the bullying became more apparent and visible, his much tougher, older sister of two years, stepped in. From then on she’s always been protecting him.
When he started middle school he decided to take Taekwondo lessons so that he could finally stand up for himself, and to be able to protect his sister instead. Although she probably didn’t need it, he still wanted to be able to at least have her back, just as she did for him (and also scare off potential good-for-nothing suitors).
Currently Chi is on his last year of high-school, doing his best with his studies so that he could follow his sister to the same college whilst also helping out at the cafe at times after school. He performs occasionally for the customers, just as his father does. Sometimes they even sing together, which the customers really enjoy. A little shy about it, Chi doesn't perform often, and only when his family encourage him to do so.
He’s not sure yet what he’d like to do in the future, perhaps major in business or something, to help with the cafe. His parents are encouraging him to find his own dream though, which is hard because currently, his ultimate goal is to just keep his family happy.
Nothing would have prepared him, however, for what could potentially turn their perfect, happy life, upside down.

Who would’ve known that dumb chainmail his sister decided to send him as a joke, even though he was sitting right next to her because they were playing video games, the night before, would result to this.
Of course he was in disbelief, hearing his sister screaming from her bedroom, to rush in and find some naked pervert, in the middle of a pentagram scorched on the floor of her room - which is besides the point - claiming to be some sort of demon with a very comprehensive made-up story about where they came from.
Of course he didn’t believe it... until he screamed for mommy, the toughest person he knew, only to find her petting this "demon" like a dog and telling them they can keep ‘em and leaving promptly to ‘cuddle’ with dad again.
And of course he wouldn’t leave this pervert alone with his sister and let her sign this contract or whatever all alone. He absolutely did not trust this demon at all whatsoever. They’re a DEMON for godsake!!

✪ Taekwondo Black Belt [1st dan] - has been practicing for 5 years, and currently still a student.
✪ Can play guitar and ukulele, but prefers the latter.
