Description

Have a merry christmas and happy holidays y’all! This is the card I made this year, it’s a linocut, a form of relief printing.

In Finland we call Father Christmas Joulupukki, which translates to Christmas goat, and the older word for Julgubben or just Tomten (Father Christmas in Swedish) is Julbocken (again, Christmas goat), so I took the goat as inspiration for a cozy little card.

Anyway, in Finland the big day is Christmas Eve on the 24th of December, as it is this evening that Joulupukki will come knocking. We actually get to meet the bringer of gifts (although some years we have just heard some knocking on the door and found a sack of presents there.

So yes, whatever you celebrate, have a happy one (unless you’re happier having an unhappy one).
