Ah, well, why not; I'll throw my little voice into the ring. And use my little doodle dragon from my previous post to do so.
Do I expect DA to listen? Oh hell no. Their track record for that is abysmal. In almost all facets.
Nonetheless, I'd like to leave this here.

AI "art" generators, as they are currently being used, are unethical.
The datasets were made by taking god only knows how many works from the net without their artists' consent. No credit or compensation for their work even offered.
But you can bet someone else is making money off this, be it the creator of the generators themselves, or others selling the images made.
It is theft.
It is NOT the same as photography, drawing from references, photomanipulation, digital art programs, or whatever other inappropriate comparisons are being tossed around as a sorry excuse.
This is not up for debate.

And it is...disturbing...to say the least, to see some people are so loudly defending it. In a cult-mentality sort of way.
Particularly when it comes to the fact that they are...against human artists? Without whom these generators wouldn't even be able to function as they do.
Not to mention the incredible amount of entitlement I usually see from these people. A sort of "Well, you put it on the internet, so it's mine now".
Which has always been a problem, but it's so much worse in this case.

I find the absence of empathy to be perhaps the most appalling thing, truthfully.
AI "art" hurts the real artists out there, aspiring and otherwise.
And I don't just mean in terms of funds potentially lost.
Please, just...listen.
