Something I forgot to mention. I use a wacom intuous 4 tablet.

So you want to know how make the comic pages.

That’s really cool. Thank you.

I make them very simply.

First step is to sketch out the page on paper, bring it into photoshop, add a layer over the sketch, fill the layer with a dark, cool color.

Something easy to look at for a long time.

Next is to add layers and fill them in white using the polygonal lasso tool.

These will be the bases for the panels.

Make them all their own layers and each layer gets it’s own folder group.

Next part is to line everything. Sometimes I don’t stick to the sketch completely. I turn off the white panel layer to see the sketch, and turn it back on to see the clean lines and to check for missing details.

When all the line art is done, I go in to color the background(poorly)

I keep a digital pallet of all the colors I frequently use to stay consistent.

I know, they’re way super cool. Like SO art.

I also keep the typesetting for each character here.

This is an example of my background coloring. I stay selected into the white base panel to color within the lines.

After all the panels have background colors, I move onto coloring the characters. Most colors get their own layers.

When coloring is all done, the last step is to add speech bubbles, the dialogue, sound effects, action lines, and my signature.

I pull all of the dialogue directly from the original fanfiction.
