This is actually the third strip. It was written third and drawn third, though it's actually the second that's absolutely completed. The reason why I opted to use it as the 'first' Doom Daze strip on the site? Well, the actual first was done in 2004, and seeing as that's the case the visuals aren't perhaps up to par with more recent work. I'm sure it'll make an appearance eventually, revamped and ready to go. Anyway, the idea for this comic strip came about while I was deleting information on a memory card, appropriately enough. I was deleting a Shinobi gamesave, and I noticed the ninja icon kneeled and bowed his head. I decided to run with this in the form of a strip: make the cutest character do the most gruesome thing, it's a recipe for success in the underground comic world. I'm pretty happy with the way this strip came out, all in all. I do, of course, have a couple of gripes about it, but there's no way around that. The most obvious of them is the lack of a background. This was drawn at 4:00 am, and I was a tad frazzled and I just wanted to work quickly, so I skipped the background (and if you can tell, the second panel.) It was actually supposed to take place in the area between Doomy's kitchen and living room. The TV was supposed to be visible in the background, though in retrospect, showing everyone the ninja committing hari-kari is a bit much. I also hate the greenish tinge of the clothes, I have no idea why that's there... Ugh. Anyway, this is one of the tamer DoomDaze strips. Wait till you see the more wild ones.
