Despite the name, the Decapitator was never meant to be used to lop off heads and was only ever used for that purpose once when it was first made and the name just stuck. The extendable blade runs on a spring-lock system that allows the blade to shoot forward with enough force to penetrate a skull. Recently there were plans to rename the gun to “Penetrator”, but this just kept making the rookies laugh……….
Anyways, to retract the blade you have to manually pull back the gun’s iron sight. The Decapitator is considered a favorite when used against the undead and is said to be very effective against apparitions when fitted with an iron blade and loaded with salt shots (the white shotgun shells).
