My guess is that frisk gave up her body to chara so as ling as Sans can't find a way to seperate the two sould without harming them and place both into seperated bodies he won't be able to see frisk again. Basically a move made by frisk to ensure sans would do his best and don't try something stupid by maybe only acting like if he wants to free chara into a seperated body but instead trying to kill chara for good while acting it was an accident.
