Thanks buddy.
Sorry to hear that, here just recently we have had clear skies, before that many many days with just featureless clouds so I certainly know what you are going through.

Thank you

Very nice captures, I would suggest to focus on your best captures from each trip instead of many, put the time into making those really good.

Ur right, much better with a few really good ones. I'm still pretty newbie in night photograpy, particularly aurora shots. Looks like people aren't scared of high ISO.

Aurora photography is all about exposure time and iso, choosing the correct ones for the aurora is what makes the shot.
On weaker aurora displays you can easily use very long exposure and lower iso, but on stronger displays you often have to sacrifice some quality aspects, either high iso and freeze more motion or lower iso and blur the aurora more.

yeah, those are the variables you can control. The aperture stays wide open off course.
I'm not satisfied with my captures so far, except a few off my latest, but I will try to improve.
I'm thinking about buying the samyang 24, 1.4. It's not as wide, but very fast.

Yes of course, but sometimes you have to close down the lens to allow for the foreground, but as with night photography it comes at a cost, but if the aurora is strong enough you can get away with a lot.
The samyang 24 is a very good lens and cheap.

All I can say is that it is magical, but nothing I say can prepare you for the real thing.

I keep hoping I will see them in the UK but they are rarely seen so far south in England. One day I will see them somewhere though

You never know, and there might be chance for it now with the sunspots that are moving towards the center of the solar disc, if they come out with some very strong flares and cme things might just happen.

I have my fingers crossed and keep an eye on the aurora forecasts. If I ever see them in England I think you might hear me screaming with happiness even in Norway

Ive had this location in mind many times, but it is a place deserving of a proper aurora display, and I was lucky to get one.

Thank you.
Started to notice it at the end despite being really well dressed for the cold, but the raw wind from the ocean made it quite chilly.
