Description
Well, it's about that time; the time I look back and realize that I've had this accound for a whole 'nother year. That makes almost four, now. And at this time, it's become tradition for me to look back at all the art I've posted....And at all the art I haven't posted. For while most unfinished art is abandoned because it simply isn't worth finishing, there are a few discarded images that are still worth sharing, even if only to give a glimpse of what might have been....And with that, I present this year's sketchdump:
So, now I come to the Vistallah portion of my sketchdump. Specifically, to a trio of creatures that just didn't make the cut when I was filling out my 7x7 matrix for all the races for the setting.
First, a lobster girl. I'm not sure why I thought it was a good idea, but I did, if only for a moment. I suppose it had the advantage of not being similar to anything else already created for the setting...
In the middle, a kitsune. I would have like to have a cat/foxgirl in the setting, but this wasn't it. Maybe the idea would have gotten more traction if this first sketch hadn't been so horrendously aweful. This is why so many of my characters are dressed so similarly. Because when I try to draw something new, there are even odds it will turn out to be some sort of abomination....
And lastly, a djinni. A spirit that is 'trapped' in some sort of manmade object. Naturally, the size of that object would have determined the size of the djinni. A lamp would house a small djinni. But a building would house a very large djinni. ....I honestly can't remember why the djinni didn't make the cut. Maybe just because the idea didn't have seniority....
