Description
This picture is supposed to illustrate a bedside table..but I'm trying to bring out character in the lamp and in the coffee mug.I don't know well what I'm going to do about the reflections of the coffee mug, nor how the made the lampshade appear to be "glowing".
the room is completly black EXCEPT for this light, so it's source is very strong. i don't know how to represent that.
the thing on the left will be an open book, and behind the coffee mug is a teapot.

So.. after reading your comment. i see you're trying to take elements, Lamp and book to show the table without drawing the table so the main focus are the two objects up there.. Given that and the other information given. and You've guessed it. i'm not drawer or no anything about it but i'll try to leave some sort of tips or suggestion:
First. is that since this looks like a sketch, you're hoping to get feedback and later change it. now about the lamp itself: Since the light is going to be the significant source that gives off so that when it hit the table. it can give off a reall good reflection.. Okay. i got it: When you're drawing the lamp head ( the part that covers the light) Draw it to where there's a tilt so that the light won't be directed in the center. let it move in some direction so that it will be bigger. The book itself. the best place to draw it is on the Lamp. Lay it flat at the base of the lamp and where it can be in the light. There should be a shadow casted that will bring out the dark spots on the table. now lets talk about the table. is it going to be drawn with details like the lamp or what? i'm sort of confused and unclear about that part. So I'll stop commenting right now and let you answer. But i want to say that this is a really good piece and i can't wait to see the finished product.
