Finally a proper introduction, and a "new" character too!
By the way, Berry is a columnist at the Foal Free Press, she writes critiques about mostly everything. She's quite popular among the readers due to her remarks.
Twinkleshine is indeed one of the most trusted sources of information, since she only gives out information when she's sure enough of their validity, and she doesn't tell them just for anypone either.
Amethyst Star/Sparkler is kind of a "big sister" character in this universe. She's one of the oldest of the crew, and often feels the need to "correct" her friends when they do something that's very much out of the line. Like DD staring into Berry's house through her window. :3
Though she might be upset for them lazing around simply because nopony invited her.
She also loves to dance.
(Also, OTP = One True Pairing. For those who didn't know it this far.)

Nice use of sarcasm there, if that's what it was. I've always thought of Berry to be the sarcastic one.Β And as for the "relaxed and carefree" thing, I'll tell you this:
I honestly think ponies will walk by, and just think those ponies are just sitting around, chatting and stuff, more than looking relaxed and carefree. But not me. They actually DO look relaxed and carefree. I like it!
You do such an excellent, fantastic, outstanding, stupendous, incredible, and marvelous job of using such great ideas in these scenes.Β In fact, if you can/are, are you going to use the name "Pencil Wars: Mare vs Mare" in the next panel as a name idea? I figured it'd be a great name.

Unfortunately the pencils won't last more than 2-3 panels out of the whole scene (50+ panels), so I don't think naming it Pencil Wars would be very accurate.

I like how it's set up where Bonbon's personality is perfectly fine with lengthy explanations that, from anypony else, would be far too much detail to make sense in-context.

Sea Swirl's CM is two dolphins that represent a loving couple. Also, dolphins often accompany ships. Her talent is sensing romantic affection (in this particular universe).

a dentist that can slow time... interesting. Mostly their special talent relates quite directly to their occupation but not this time it seems.

Her talent is some kind of time magic, which isn't really related directly to being a dentist, but she can use it to slow time when the patient sits in her chair, so from the patient's viewpoint the whole ordeal only lasts for a few seconds. (She has her own ways to prevent pain. Maybe gives a shot of lidocain (or other painkiller dentists use) to the patient, let them wait to kick in, then does the whole time-slowing procedure.)
