my cat did this to a baby mouse two nights ago and brought the little thing- STILL LIVING- to our porch as a 'gift'
it was still alive the yesterday morning with a broken back .... it died 10:15 AM our time here in USA

Mercy killings are acceptable. Especially for a wild rodent with a broken spine.

You took it too close to heart. My cat killed 5 mice, two chinchillas (both died on my hands) and he is 100% domestic animal. And mice and chichillas were my pets -_-

our mice are wild so occasionally they get in and we dont mind the cats hunting them
but this was outside hunting and a gift with the baby mouse still alive
it was heart wrenching to see it die.... poor thing
I also dont mind her hunting moles and voles
but not snakes or chipmunks
