Description
My first artwork since like... April. I was watching a lot of videos on Youtube of this dry brushing media, so I'd thought I'd give it a try.My first time was a failure, I didn't know how to shade with it, so I switched to doing some charcoal because they seem to have the same procedure. After being successful at that, I went back to dry brush for the second fight, and won!
Anyway, since it looks like all the cool kids draw Johnny Depp, well... can I be cool too?

my high school teacher is obsessed with him, she has a poster in her office that says, "Johnny Depp is like wine, tastes better with time." lol

Sounds like you went through a lot of frustration and experimentation on this one!
But that's okay, the end result is fantastic! [:

thanks. it was quite a challenge, the end result is still a little rough for dry brush but i'm happy with it, not bad for the first time

Definitely not bad for the first time!
It looks excellent!
By the way, do you mind elaborating on your dry brush process? I find it interesting. [:

Dry brush is using a small amount of paint on paper, so it's like drawing with paint. When the paint gets drier you can create different shades. It's kinda like charcoal,

That's the video I found, that artist goes from lighter grey to darker areas, making it looks really smooth. I went from darker to lighter areas cuz I found it more comfortable. lol but yeah, just experiment with it and you'll find your way of doing it.
