Description
Work in Progress.Bug/Rock type.
This was a tough one. I wanted to make something original that hinted at Famine (one of the horseman of the apocalypse) and something that didn't use a type already given to one of my 'bringer' Pokemon. Lots of designs I thought of could quite easily have fit into Pestilence too - since they are often interconnected - but I settled for this one.
Faminine is based on bugs with an emphasis on Termites, since they are voracious bugs that are known for eating wood and plants. I also used the quite frankly horrifying abdomen of a termite queen as an influence for this design's lower half and the rock-like nest structures created by termites as a feature for the upper body.
Hope you like it!
Faminine
-----------------------
Derivation: Famine & Feminine
Abilities: Hunger Strike
Classification: The Famine Bringer Pokemon
Faminine's body is a living nest, host to an infinite number of ravenous bugs that swarm across the land and devour any food or plant matter to take back to their home, making it even bigger. It is said that whenever she wakes from slumber, there is nothing left for anything else to eat and the surrounding terrain is plunged into desperate hunger. Legend tells that it rides out with three other 'bringer' Pokemon when the fate of the world hangs in the balance, ready to take its place in the Apocalypse as Famine... the bringer of Hunger.
Potential moves list: Attack Order, Defend Order, Heal Order, Signal Beam, Bug Bite, Bug Buzz, Struggle Bug, X-Scissor, Ancient Power, Power Gem, Rock Slide, Rock Throw, Sand Storm, Smack Down, Stone Edge
:bulletpgreen: Hunger Strike
------------------------
No healing moves or moves related to food (such as swallow, spit up, etc) may be used by anyone but Faminine when it is in battle.

Nice work with the name
I particularly like this design, it doesn't ressemble the other centaurs too much so it offers a certain variety ^^ it really does hint at famine, and the termite aspect of it is enhanced by its huge (disgusting) abdomen as well as the termite rocks Β

Thanks very much ugh I know, right? termite queen abdomens are truly disgusting (I don't usually mind insects termites, but eek). I'm pleased the aspects come together ok so that it fits in with the others
I was hoping since insects are kinda skeletal anyway, it wouldn't seem too out of place

Well considering the queen has to lay all those eggs without end, I don't blame her for getting that fat the concept came in well, and it's true that insects usually hint at famines, just look at any critter that eats all the crops

Yeah that's true, she's entitled to get a little junk in her trunk
yeah they sure do I considered locusts too, but I was limiting myself to types that weren't being used by the other bringers.

Wonder if Limbo had any inspiration for you to create this creepy crawly c:
I like how you made a design completely unique from what was expected and still portrayed the concept of famine so well o3o

Hahah nah I had the idea before playing Limbo, it just took a while to finalize
Thanks very much my friend, I'm pleased the famine element still comes across ok

Thank you not sure what you mean about the claws though, you may have to be a little more specific before I can identify the problem!

The hands, they look a little misshapen to me. It's not that big of a problem though

Trueform In reply to Need-No-King [2014-03-12 21:28:50 +0000 UTC]
Could be the shape of the claws. Though I supposed a bug's hands would be mishapen if they had them

I really particularly like the way you came up with this design! That mound crown reflects it's royalty(I really hope that is a crown), and the over enlarged torso shows it's terrifying design as one of the Four 'bringer' Pokemon! Anyway over all nice design, nice concept, and I like that you used a bug instead of a skeleton or something relating to it!Β

Trueform In reply to dalejandre1 [2014-03-10 22:08:50 +0000 UTC]
Heheh yeah it's a crown/shoulder growth, but it it covers both and it's indicative of a crown I'm pleased it fits in, thanks very much, my friend
The design was something I took a long time over since I was trying to avoid obvious choices; I've seen many versions of the four horseman, but a bug is kind of skeletal without being obviously so

Nice design, I like the termite mound/crown. Β Also the abdomen provide nice contrast with the body while at the same time fitting in with it.Β
And excellent name. Β Its interesting how some words just fit together into names sometimes. Β I did a similar thing with Peonyony (my peony pony).Β

Thank you, I'm pleased the crown aspect came through ok I had to add the abdomen, since they are really creepy in real termites and hint at being full of bug eggs
Many thanks I like to try and find names that fit like this, sometimes they just jump straight out at you like this one did but it's fun looking for them all the same!
