Description
Part of a series done by projecting 35mm slides with a Kodak Carousel slide projector onto a model. The nature images on the slides were taken by my father, who has forgotten more about photography than I have learned.
This was a joint effort with - please see his photos as well.
Model: Terra

Thanks to everyone who suggested or commented on the Daily Deviation! I hope my visitors will take time to check out =Salemburn 's excellent photos (including those from the same shoot). If you still can't get enough Terra (and I don't blame you!) see =bryanhumphrey 's wonderful gallery (you can search for "Terra" but you'd be missing a lot).

As of now, 1565 people faved this photo and 262 added it to their collections. That's a bit overwhelming, so I'll say THANK YOU to all of them here. I prefer individual thanks, but it's simply not feasible.

I like this! I thought it was a photomanipulation when I saw the thumbnail on the daily deviations page, but the projection idea is way cooler. I may have to try this out using my girlfriend as a canvas

Nope; no manip other than standard cleanup in Canon DPP and Photoshop Elements. Try it!

"It is beautiful, makes me think many things" according to Google Translate. I'm afraid I took French instead of Spanish. Β‘Gracias!

Agreed; it's certainly not an original idea. I've seen Simple Shelter do it live onstage with projected video.
I'm more of a technician; Salemburn's the creative one.

Please see my comments and earlier responses for details. Basically 35mm slides projected onto a model in a dark room.

Your eyes match the trees nicely.
This was a unique idea; it's beautiful.

absolutely beautiful. I love how the model's name is even 'Terra', the Latin root for 'Earth'. The image depicts an almost dream-like ideaology; the face of nature depicted on a human face, almost looks like she is some sort of forlorn, dreaming nature goddess thinking of a time when the world more closely resembled said photo....
sorry for the ramble-feedback, but thank you for posting this, it's added something to my day and imagination.

I knew the Latin, but the correlation never struck me before. Thanks!
