Description
The league of Mayapan is one of the oldest political entities in the Americas, being formed by the three most powerful Mayan dynasties (the Itza, the Cocom and the Tutul Xiu) in the early 1000s. Since then it has gone on to dominate the Yucatan peninsular and after narrowly avoiding collapse in the 1400s has spread to the Pacific, during the expansion many cities joined the league willingly but many more had to be brought in with force. Today the league is a nexus of trade flowing between the north and south as well as the Caribbean and Pacific which has lead to the Mayan cities becoming incredibly wealthy.
