The first part is a bit confusing, but basically

Maisie had her wand directly on Aldrick, and the spell was meant to transform into a human version of the object. Since aldrick is under a curse, the spell doesn't work, but she wand still is active, so when maisie moves the wand even an inch away from aldrick, the spell shoots and transforms the object next to aldrick into a human version.

If a handkerchief was shot by the spell, then it turns into a hand since it's mean to be used by hands, if it's a mug it also turns into a hand, if it's a chair- then it turns into a butt but i won't show that-

So that's my explanation : )
