Description
KraunCommission for
Character illiustration
- Inca - Artofinca -
Alexander Nanitchkov
Photoshop, custom textures and brushes, wacom
updated retouched few things
Anatomical disbalance (mutations) were intentional
along with the strong traditional look
(oil on canvas) inspired by teh Old Masters.
Appearance: Kraunβs appearance is very alien in nature; his flesh is literally as pale as a ghost with a smooth rubbery texture, his eyes are nothing but reflective liquid mercury orbs that lack both pupils and irises, and his long straight white hair runs down just past his waist, neatly parted down the center to cover the sides of his face. His body structure is ectomorphic and extremely elongated; thin and lanky with narrow shoulders, emaciated to a point where he is almost skeletal with a wiry and sinuous frame of mostly tendon and sinew, complete with extremely long spindly limbs that make up most of his body length, disproportional as opposed to a regular body as his arms and legs are five feet long each. His facial features are well defined and gaunt in a statue-esque sort of way, almost appearing neither masculine nor feminine; it is rather ambiguous. But the most striking feature is that he never shows emotions or expressions, exactly like a carved statue; his body itself reflects this as it seems to be at a constant temperature of zero degrees centigrade; his touch is as cold as ice and his complexion is like that of a frozen corpse or a ghost.
The monk wears black pants and black boots, both of which are strapped with small black leather belts and buckles. He also wears long black fingerless gloves that just go up past his elbows and what appears to be the lower half of a ragged set of heavy long robes wrapped around his waist, hanging down to his ankles; essentially a long overskirt. Beneath the long fingerless gloves he wears, a system of keratinous white plates and spines on his forearms are present, growing directly from his bones and out of his flesh, five plates in all with three spines whose tips and outward edges are similar to blades growing underneath each, the tips of the spines slice cleanly through the gloves and protrude from it, between the overlapping plates. He also has plates over his shins and similar but smaller plates on his knuckles, the back of his fingers, and a row running down his back along his backbone. In fact, even his hair is artificial, as he is not mammalian; he has no mammalian glands and no belly button that breaks the perfect smoothness of his rubbery flesh, and his body is completely hairless save for the artificial hair on his head which is of the same make-up as the spines and plates that grow out of his body. He usually carries a long string of plain grey perfectly spherical beads, twenty-seven in all, each one centimetre in diameter. These shu-zhu, or 27-count prayer beads, he usually has wrapped around his left wrist and hand in a double loop, the intersecting point usually found at the inside of his wrist.

sorry, he looks just like him to me...except he's not surrounded by snow and clutching an evil sword...or sending lots of ghouls and skeletons after me...the jerk...

I really like it, the background is nicely done but doesn't draw the eye off your main guy. He has a great feel about him with plenty of great detailing.

Gorgeous work!
The design is splendid and the contrasts add a lot of to the power and the dark feeling he brings

Nice torso! He certainly falls under my fetish specs. I can't help but think he looks like a cross between the character Elric of Melnibone and Don Henrie that played dress-up in a Drow's closet

Oh wow! Kraun showed me the WIP last night. This is AMAZING! The detail is amazing, right down to the background! You're extremely talented Tsabo, the Old Masters would be proud =o
I'd be extremely interested in commissioning you as well <3

You're too humble. ^_^
I love art of all forms, but traditional mediums are my favourite and I have a soft spot for traditional work. So, I can really appreciate your eye for the style. You captured it beautifully. And your attention to detail is wonderful!
I look forward to working with you also, though it might be a little while yet depending on finances. I AM sure though, that over time, if you're willing, I will order more than one piece.
