Kagome's eyes narrowed at the special moment suddnly ruined by a certain dog eared Hanyou. "inuyasha..."
puppy ears flattened against silver hair as amber eyes shifted to the concrete bellow knowing this was going to hurt.
"SIT BOY!"
being a huge sesshomaru x kagome person i image this is a special note from Kagome's husband sess during a winter festival.
the fluff around her shoulder was a gift from her husband as a courting gift as no lady of the west would be complete with out the dreaded fluff. (both dad and mom had it...so why shouldn't wife get one
)this artwork i was focusing alot on shading for lighting.. for the whole picture. my dear co-worker ~Miha-Mimiko-Kyattuha brought up my images were still looking flat so i decided to try and improve upon it. and this lineart gave me the perfect opportunity for lighting and working on a good winter night scene.
Lineart was provided by ~Shinta-Inu
i just colored it
random brushes used for snow (don't remember who.. been in photoshop to long)
please leave critiques i want to improve myself so all critique will be well received.

This is amazing !!! Great GREAT COLORING! As for critique - if you're going to make it anime styled, possibly make the outlines darker? ^__^" that's just me, though! *hides* I think this is BEAUTIFUL!

thank you ^_^ i'm actually trying to get away from having the lines there at all.. my newest two deviants i think i did pretty damn well for taking out all the original lines.
i think this is after a while (like kagome is an adult now) and after being with Sesshomaru a while and seeing how happy his brother was making her he accepted it and so as not to loose their friendship he is now trying to get along with his brother for her sake. (i might actually take this picture and make it part of my fanfiction fate.)

The part I don't understand is um.. how did Inuyasha and Kagome overcome their feelings for each other? Like.. were they just all, "Okay, this is not working out, can we just be friends?" LOL

And a lot of people have problems with the fluff on Sesshomaru's shoulder, Usually I just draw short little hairs coming off the fuzz and eventually it starts looking furry XD

thats good to know that it came out looking alright on some peoples monitors. it really is funny how it will change from one to another i guess it's the color scheme of the computer. (we looked at it on the 5 different computers at my house + my phone and two were yellow the others were normal)
i may go back and fix it if i have time.. or i find a good tutorial.

it is the color setting on different monitors, there's really no problem with it at all, all people would have to do is set their color settings back to normal because usually all computers color settings are set to normal and some people change that because they want it a slightly different color scheme, but then again I know almost nothing about any other computers besides XP and Vista, and a little bit of dell, but all three types show the same color, so I'd say people have just changed their color schemes XD

yeah, we're running vista, xp and 7 in our house..and the vista color scheme it was nearly impossible to get anything moteratly close to a skin tone.. but the xp computers they came out perfectly and i could get the slight variations.. i don't have quiet the variations on 7 which is what my laptop runs on.

my mom's been there and done that, usually she worked 7 days a week on shifts like that X_X, and sometimes she had shifts where she went in at the day, came back at night and then had to go back in but she usually refused those or 'Called in sick' because she was the only competent desk clerk there, the other girls were just that, Girls with to much make up and bleached hair AND brains who did a bit to much 'Work' with the guys >.> if you get my meaning?, so they gave the desk clerks there a bad name and guys kept on trying to ask my mother out even though she had gray hair XD but I must say my mother is quite pretty, she has what looks like black hair with silver streaks in it and her hair brings out her eyes and she's made guys get whiplash and fall down on hard wood before XD I wuv my mommy,

yeah see here State law doesn't allow you to work 7 days in a row.. and we all know it and since most of us hate our job we make sure we use "but it's a state law" card. same with turn around shifts. we have to have a minumum of 8 hours between shifts and we will pull that card to if we have to.

wow! this is amazing. Looking back on a few others, I agree it was a little flat. Maybe a little more shading in the moko-moko (fluff) but other than that, it looks great! XD

yeah i have actually have never worked with fur so i kinda rushed through that
lol alot of people are.. but i found sessXkag to be a cute and funny couple.. and you can get some funny scenes from them

that's ok. Fur is hard. XD I fine a custom brush and lots of small, thin lines, does really well. If you know how the fur lays, it helps a bunch too. XD

yeah and thats the problem there aren't many good real fur references for sesshomaru's furry thing. (any idea what that is anyway?) it just has vague shadows in the anime.

it's kind of an armor like thing. It's called a moko-moko I think. Maybe a symbol of his youksi-ness, or his rank, or his aristocratcy? idk really, but has an entire journal entry. Look in her inuyasha things on the left. There is a link to it somewhere on her profile.

You paint really nice, but there is something in the skin that I don't like... it seems... different (I don't know how to say that). The skin color isn't nice, either. I think it should be lighter. Anyways, the shadowing is awesome, and the clothing too.

it's supposed to be a night scene so the colors would be darker, but alot of it comes to your computer screen, it seems that colors very by computer screen's (i have one coloring on one screen is the perfect tan.. but on another he's homer simpson yellow)
though i will admit i think kagome's came out to much towards the yellow range then inuyasha's who is more red.

What you say abouts screens, is right. I'm seeing it in a Samsung LCD of 17". Maybe if you painted it in a plasma one, or in a tradicional one, it would be different. Anyways, have a good day.

but i'm, working off a Asus laptop thats a smaller screen so i don't know what type of screen it is.. but i'm also running window 7 which has several different color schemes so it could be that as well. i know when i was using vista i had no color pallet what so ever.. XP is the best so far

Heh, I personally still see this as an Inu/Kag piece, since I'm not much of a fan of the Sess/Kag pairing. But I will say this is realy well done with the coloring.
The only thing that caught my eye was that it looks like you forgot to color in InuYahsa's eyebrow. But still, it's awesome work!

they eye brows are there.. they just blend in with the hair (i never liked being able to see eyes and eye brows through thick hair like anime's do.)

I like your colouring style! so soft and a unique palette of colours, very harmonious altogether. Most would probably have made the line-art into something more cel-style, but I like your depiction... soft and special like a manga cover or an artbook piece.

Yeah I agree, cel-shading is impressive only in a few scenarios for me, like if the lineart is so incredible, the detail is great, or some other parts (like the bg) are painted, so it looks like a scene in an anime. But if it's poorly done, it would probably have been better off to try another route.
Your style is great!! It's more of a "collectible" style to me, like a special edition manga cover or something XD.

to me cell shading always looks like they took the easy way out. sometimes you can get amazing pieces that are cell shaded but most the time to me it just looks like they took the lazy easy way out.
