Description AKA: A Bittersweet Victory.

20 Days into the year, the first meme lands. Here is a meme of Wario reflecting on the fact he’s won something, but at what cost. For me, this relates to Toontown, The Animated Seires by the now defunct channel, TheZinicZone.

Toontown was my childhood alongside over things, and I was gutted the game shut down over 10 years ago. Whilst I did carry on playing the game with Rewritten, I barely play anymore as I’m a very busy man. When I was younger, I remembered seeing an animated series by TheZinicZone, AKA, MysticalJames, I really enjoyed it. However, many fans regard episode 10, the finale of series 1, to be the worst episode of the series falling the downer ending of toons’ failed invasion of Cog City to destroy the Sellbot Factory.

However, for me, the Cogs’ victory was bittersweet. The Toons destroyed much of the central parts of the city and killed so many cogs, including the general, who was killed when Alphinore sacrificed himself to save John, Smirky and DeeDee from the Virtual Patrol cog.

The meme of Wario portrays the Cog Boss. Although his city withstood the attack, it came at a huge cost. And whilst the Factory can reproduce the cogs lost, it is still nonetheless a gutting feeling a leader has when their people lose their lives during an invasion.

I know Cog City consists of Downtown Toontown and the Toons could have been taking that back but the invasion of Cog City was a decoy to destroy the factory. If the Virtual Patrol hadn’t stepped in when the Security Goons were getting annihilated, the Cogs would have lost.

Epsiode 10 isn’t a great episode but it’s just okay for me. Nothing more. Sadly, due to YouTube’s New Policies, James abandoned his channel and the series was cancelled in 2019, which is gutting. But, it is what it is.

Man, Toontown was a great game. I really still do miss it.
