Bellial Early Style (アーリースタイル Ārī Sutairu), also known as Past Belial (昔ベリアル Mukashi Beriaru), is Belial's original form before being corrupted by Rayblood's influence.Early Style (アーリースタイル Ārī Sutairu), also known as Past Belial (昔ベリアル Mukashi Beriaru), is Belial's original form before being corrupted by Rayblood's influence.Ultraman Tregear (ウルトラマントレギア Urutoraman Toregia) is an evil Ultraman who made his first appearance in Ultraman R/B The Movie as the main antagonist. He later becomes the main antagonist of the succeeding series, Ultraman Taiga.
Design
Ultraman Tregear was designed by Masayuki Gotoh, who was given the order to simply "make an evil Ultraman like Belial". As the appearance was up to his own imagination, Gotoh decided to use the themes of mask and restrains.[3] The pointed shoes are based on Ultraman's Type B suit, which were similarly pointed.[4]
Etymology
Tregear's name is derived from an slight alteration of a combination of two ancient Greek words.[5]
τρέλα (Trela) トゥレラ[6]/τρελός (Trelós): Mad (狂気)
περιέργεια (Periérgeia) テリエルギア: Curiosity (好奇心)
These two words are fitting of his personality and former occupation as a scientist. This breakdown of meaning is later confirmed in the Ultraman Taiga Super Complete Works story Blue Shadow.
