Description Tired of a life of endless bloodshed and exiled from the great Elvaan kingdom of San d'Oria due to a noble, yet ill-advised act, Tamura forsook the sword and dedicated her new life to one of the most noble arts on Vana'diel: that of Cooking. Just starting in her ultimate quest to master the Thousand Secrets of the Kitchen, Tamura faces her new, more tranquil life with a spark of hope.

And here's the second part of a pic I made for a friend over at (check her stuff! It's quite good and you'll doublelike it if you're a FFXI fan!) depicting her Elvaan character (a retired, yet highly proficient Paladin) from Final Fantasy XI (the MMORPG you've hearing all about!). The whole idea I had in the beggining was for some other character trying to convince Tamura to step out of retirement and take the blade again in order to fight a great evil... and this is the righteously heroic deed she would be asked to undertake. To lead a phalanx of good men and women of all corners and political allegiances of Vana'diel in the hunt of a great shadow of murder and despair. Will the scion retake the consecrated blade of her days as Paladin of the Goddess, finding and rekindling the dwindling spark of her Faith? Will she remain adamant in her vow not to take up steel again in order to never repeat the dire mistakes of the past?

Only she knows!

((While drawing this part of the piece, I also realized one of the things I like the most when I draw: to make little sidestories out of peripheral or background drawings. For example: look at that banner flying the colours of the Republic of Bastok in the lower left? Why did the dead soldier grasping the flagpole? Did he took comfort in dying under the shadow of his nation's flag? Was he trying to keep the standard from falling and disgracing the honour of his military unit? --The dead Mithra trying to protect the Taru lying besides her? Did they considered each other brothers? Lovers? A tragic ending to a tragic life? --The bard with a spear on his back? Was he fleeing the battle or was he taken by surprise by the cowardly thrown slaying shard of metal? --The broken sword? Broken when it feel from the hands of a coward or a hero breathing his last seconds of sweet life? And so on and so forth before I bore you to death. ))

Ex-Miscellanea:

1. Little did I know, the dread monster Ifrit is actually a summons and you don't just run into them in the wilds like I thought. And they don't make a little band out of Lava Lizards and other demihuman beastman... again, like I thought. XP
2. I didn't like how the holy symbol of the goddess Altana turned out in the piece of armor in the lower right arm -it looks like a sunflower instead of the Most Divine Sun Sheding Five Tears of Creation Upon a Young World.
3. On the other hand, I liked the sword. Had sum' fun drawing it. Specially the lil' liony thing. : )
4. She's s'possed to be stabbing that beastman guy at her feet. Cruel, cruel Paladins.
5. Ifrit finally noticed her when she activated one of her Holy Paladin Powerz (which I guess Paladins in FFXI have. XP).
6. Noseless Ifrit!
