Description
*I'm not sure that size compare is right*I thought this year was troodontid's year, because of 6 troodontids were named (and one dead) in this year.
So I drew troodontid that named in 2017, and dead in 2017.
From the left,
Daliansaurus liaoningensis- small troodontid from china (Yixian formation, Lujiatun Bed). It was known by nearly complete skeleton.
Albertavenator curriei- a middle sized troodontid from Kanada (Horseshoe canyon formation). They named after paleontologist Philip Currie.
Almas ukhaa- small troodontid from mongolia (Djadokhta formation). It is the latest troodontid named in 2017.
Latenivenatrix mcmastrae- big troodontid (3m~3.5m) from Kanada (Dinosaur park formation). They were the biggest troodontid.
'Troodon formosus'(ghost)- they were named in 1856, but this genus had been a nomen dubium in this year.
Liaoningvenator curriei- the second troodontid which named after Philip Currie (Liaoning formation, Lujiatun bed). It had extraordinary long leg.
Jianihualong tengi- It was found in Lujiatun bed too. Its fossil preserved asymmetric feather on its tail.
Good bye 2017, and welcome 2018!
