Jack made his way over to the harp and goose. The goose was resting on a small nest, but the harp was a bit more unusual to Jack. It appeared to have a face, no...a body on it. It resembled a woman with a flowing dress and gloves. Jack looked at it in amazement, besides the giant interior around him, this was by far one of the most incredible things he had seen in his life. The goose and harp looked over, and noticed the teen boy make his way towards them. They were a bit shocked, they've never really seen any humans for a long time. Jack finally was now in front of the two, bending down a bit. He studied them, while they looked at him with shocked but curious expressions. Finally, he broke the awkward silence. "Uh...hello?", he said, a little nervous. The goose and harp looked at each other, before looking back at Jack. "H..hello..", the goose replied shyly. Jack's eye widened. Was he hearing this right? The goose was talking! Talking! "Di..did you just talk?", Jack asked, shaking his head, and pointing at the goose.
The harp smiled a bit, and laughed. "Yes, she can talk, and so can I..", it said. Jack's eye widened even more. Not only was he in the sky, in a giant castle, but he was talking to a goose and a harp. 'Could this day get any better?', he thought to himself excitedly. "Um...My name is Jack, and you are?", he asked, sitting down. "Oh, I don't really have a name..", the harp said. "But my name is Goldie!", the goose replied. "Ah, that's a nice name.", Jack said, smiling. "May I ask what a boy like yourself is doing up here?", the harp asked, frowning a bit. "Oh, I know this will sound hard to believe, but I climbed my way up here. By a beanstalk.", Jack explained, gesturing with his hands. Goldie and the harp looked at him. "Huh, where'd you find a beanstalk?", Goldie asked. "You see, I live with my mother and younger sister, we don't have a lot of money, so Ma wanted me to sell our cow Alice. As me and my sister were walking down to the market, a man in some cloak walked by us, and asked if we could sell Alice to him. Ma told me not to talk to anyone there, so I ignored him, but he kept following us, and begged me to trade with him. He said that he would give us magic beans, which I didn't believe. My sister did though, and eventually I gave in. So we traded Alice, my mom got pretty mad at me for doing that, she still might be mad at me...", Jack explained, looking down a bit. "My sister buried the beans, hoping they would work. And today, we woke up to see a beanstalk reaching up into the clouds. I doubted anything would be up here, but my sister really wanted to see what was up here. So, I told her I would climb up and check. I guess I was wrong, heh..", he finished, rubbing the back of his head. Goldie and the harp looked at each other fascinated.
"That's amazing!", Goldie said. "I'm sorry about you're family though..I wish we could help you..", the harp said. Goldie looked over at the harp. "Wait, maybe we can!", she exclaimed. "What do you mean?", Jack asked, looking up. The harp looked over at Goldie with confusion, waiting for an answer. "Watch..", the goose said, now looking concentrated. Jack watched in confusion. "Um...are you pooping or something?", he asked, not sure if he should be looking at this or not. The harp chuckled. "Oh, I know she's doing, no it's not what you think." Jack then heard what sounded like a 'pop' sound, and suddenly Goldie stoop up. Jack gasped. There, underneath Goldie, was a golden egg. A REAL golden egg! Jack walked closer, and kneeled down. "Ca..can I hold it?", he asked. "Of course!" Goldie said, stepping back a bit. With that, Jack reached out, and grabbed the egg. He then brought it to his chest, and admired it. It seemed to sparkle in the sunlight. "This is so cool..", he murmured. "Maybe you could sell it, then you could get the money to help provide for you and you're family!", Goldie said. Jack smiled. He did like the goose's idea, but he didn't want to use the money JUST for himself and his family. He thought he could probably do something else, for some of the other people in the village who were less fortunate. "Yeah, that's a good idea. I could probably help other people too!", he said. "Excellent! You're such a kind boy!", the harp exclaimed, smiling. Jack then looked up. "Say, what can you do?", he asked. "Oh, me? Well, since I have arms, I can pluck the strings myself, so nobody really has to do any work. Not only that, but I can sing too!", the harp explained. "Cool! Can you perhaps sing a song?", Jack asked. "Of course!", the harp said.
Jack listened in awe as the harp sung it's song. It wasn't any song he's ever heard before, but it was still beautiful. The best Jack could describe the harp's voice was that of an angel, it was so soothing and lovely, he'd never heard anyone sound like that before. He did recall his mother singing to him at night when he was a lot younger, but that was really the only other time he heard someone sing. The harp was also tugging a few of it's strings while playing, and it's music sounded just as good as it's voice. It finished it's song, and Jack slowly clapped his hands. "That was..amazing!", he exclaimed. The harp giggled, smiling. "Thank you, I knew you would like it.", it said. "My sister would probably like it if you were at our house. She does have trouble falling asleep some nights, maybe you're singing could help her.", Jack suggested. The harp nodded. "Yeah, I would like that. I'd rather be at you're house than here." Jack stopped, looking at the harp. He was a bit confused by what it said. This place seemed really cool, and it was much better than his house. Maybe it's because their both too small, but he didn't really understand. "Huh, really? What's wrong with this place?", he asked. Goldie and the harp looked at each other, frowning a bit. "Well, you see...years ago we belonged to someone else. I was kept by an old man, and the harp told me that it used to belong to some king. One day..", she sighed before continuing. "One day, a giant had came, he's the one who lives in this castle.." Jack's eye widened, looking around the place, now understanding this. "He stole me from my owner, and the harp had told me that he grabbed it, and proceeded to destroy the castle. I found myself up on this table, and I met the harp on here as well. Ever since, he's been forcing me to lay golden eggs for himself...Oh, I wish I could see my owner again, but I'm afraid he's no longer around..", Goldie sighed, lowering her head in sorrow. "And I think the reason he took me is only because he wanted me for himself. After all, there's no other harps like me in the world..", the harp said. Jack looked at both the goose and harp with a saddened look.
He felt awful for them. It must've been terrible for them to have been ripped away from their owners, and now having to deal with being in the hands of a greedy and cruel monster. Jack felt more determined taking them home, since not only would they help him, and his family, but he would take better care of them than this giant ever could. "I'm really sorry that happened to you two. I think it's best if I get you both out of here, and bring you home with me. You'll be a big help for me, my family, and others. Plus, we'll take much better care of you two.", Jack said, giving a reassuring smile to them. Goldie and the harp both looked up at him with shock. "Really? You're really going to do that? For the both of us?", Goldie asked. "Of course! You two don't deserve to be trapped up here all miserable. Everything will be okay once I take you to my house, okay?", Jack asked. The harp smiled, and Goldie did as well. "Thank you so much, young man...you don't know how grateful we are!", the harp said. Jack smiled, and stood up. "Now how about we try and find away off this table?", he asked, picking up the harp. Suddenly, the three heard something move from another room. Jack was confused, but the harp and goose looked scared. "Oh no...", the harp said quietly. Jack looked at it with concern. "What's wrong?", he asked. "He's up...", Goldie said, looking in the direction of where the noise came from. "The giant-", Jack asked before being cut off by shaking. He stumbled a bit. "Woah!", he said, startled. The giant was making his way to the kitchen, and with each step, Jack felt himself being shaken by the ground even more. He struggled to stay up, keeping his grip tight on the harp, not wanting to drop it. The shaking and stomping eventually stopped, and that's when Jack realized the horror: the giant was in the kitchen now, and he'll defiantly notice him. Jack looked up, frozen and terrified. Goldie and the harp did the same, having the same expression as him.
The giant stopped at the table, and looked down. His eyes widened in shock when he noticed the tiny boy holding his harp. His eyes narrowed into a glare, clenching his teeth at the sight of the intruder in front of him. "Well, well, well...what do we have here?", he bellowed, Jack flinching at the loudness of his face. "Uh oh...", he muttered, terrified of what was going to happen to him.
