Description
For a while now, I've wanted to experiment more with character design, specifically character design for animation. I also want to do more humans/anthros. As much as I love ponies, I need to have other things under my belt.I've been thinking of making a few OCs, and using them for animation/illustration practice. These three are some tentative design ideas. At this point, I don't have any particular story, names, or plans worked out for any of them. But I do have some rough ideas for a setting I'd like to put them in, and personalities for each of them.
To be honest, as actual characters they may never get fully fleshed out. But I will be turning them into finished character designs. Ideally, I want to do a reference sheet, pose/expression sheets, animated turn arounds, and a walk cycle for each of them. After that, maybe I can do some animation memes, and/or start illustrating the world and situations they're in. Or maybe I can just turn them into a shitty d&d party.
Character one is a traveling healer. She is snake themed. Yes, that is a rattlesnake tail. (that I might get rid of) she uses herbs, poisons, and flute music to channel healing magic. 'Might name her Esmeralda or something idk. Feel free to leave suggestions.
Character two is an apprentice monster hunter. Nobly born, raised somewhat privileged, with good magic tutors. Thinks they're hot shit, but has yet to actually get in any seriously dangerous situations. kind of a snob. Is probably experimenting with dark magic when they think nobody's looking. Hot temper. They/them. I'm thinking of calling them Vas.
Character three is an absent minded scholar type. He's very, very well read, and can sort of be considered an expert on magic and monsters, but doesn't actually have magic himself, and hasn't seen most of the things he reads about. Terrible situational awareness. Wanders around with his nose in a book. Probably walks strait into danger without realizing it and has to be rescued. I kind of want to call him Johnathan or something.
I'm thinking maybe these three could make a halfway functional team, if they could stop snipping at each other long enough. The healer is very widely traveled and has practical experience, but lacks combat strength. The scholar can spot a monster's week points and ways out of a tight situation, but kind of panics in the face of anything with teeth. The hunter is fearless, and actually good in a fight, but reckless as hell and inexperienced.
Let me know what you think! And ask any questions that come to mind. I'm hoping that by answering them, I can flesh things out a bit more.
