Description I'm just submitting this picture to illustrate my creative process for the piece on the right-hand side of this image:

On the left is a picture I saw from the Romney For President group and I felt inspired by their work. Look at how vibrant the photo is! It really captures the stark contrast between the bright colors of the debate hall and the hopelessness on the president's face. The president stands behind a simple question: "Mr. President, where is your plan?" giving the viewer the sense that President Obama doesn't have any sort of plan at all, for the future of the nation or otherwise. It is a simple piece that makes a very clear statement with color and tact.

I realize my own work is simple by comparison and lacking much of the production value; I was unable to spend much time on it. However, taking what I've learned from the Romney Campaign's work, I built my piece off of a hopeless-looking picture of Mitt Romney. His expression makes him appear lost in the contradictory nature of his own statements. The arrangement of those statements into a connect-the-dots-style question-mark is a play on the colloquialism "connecting the dots"; an expression describing the arrival at an epiphany after examining disparate data items. The data items, of course, are the statements Romney has made over the course of his political career, which don't seem to make sense together at all. Thus, the "plan" the reader is meant to discover is, metaphorically, an open question.
Of course, the entire presentation is delivered in a pedantic, condescending style, which obliquely refers to the potential loss of educational childrens' television programming through PBS. Programming, which the artist has fond childhood memories of.
