Finally I done! My entry for Costume Contest!

Right below I’ll not only talk about my decision of each character, like I’m going to give my opinion about the Final Fantasy XIII game and a very extended explanation.
Yes, it’ll be a very long text, but I believe you’re going to enjoy the text. So, please, read it, ok?

First of all, about the game.

I’ve played Final Fantasy XIII for PS3 since December of 2010 and finished the story in March of 2011 and, so far, is my favorite Final Fantasy of all. Still, it’s not the kind of game I’d recommend those who loved the XII, Tatics or games that give to the player more freedom and side-quests.
This FF is linear, pretty much. Until the chapter 11 (there are 13) you can’t go wherever you want, you cannot battle with all the possibilities (the parading system only appears later and you can only fulfill all the roles near to the end) and it’s a totally “autocracy”: auto-battle, auto-heal after all battles, auto-talk…. Not to mention, after you finished the Story, the only thing you might want to do is the 64 missions and get all the items. That might consume a lot of time, money and the feedback isn’t that great…

But that wasn’t the game focus.

The battles are focused in the Paradigm choices. It’s a more strategy FF than just choosing strong attacks or magics. Creating a “deck” of paradigms depending the foe can makes everything easy or harder (that’s why the game allow you to restart the battle from the begin, in case you make any mistake). And have a great timing to change between the paradigm is something you might get with the time. And maybe Square Enix just decided to open the Paradigm system later to the player get used with the Game’s system 9trsut me, if I start the game with all the paradigm, I’d get more lost and give up the game)
And now the biggest pros: the story, Character conception and musics.
Thankfully there’s a Datalog to explain to you a resume of each chapter, telling what happened in the story, bios and such, the story is amazing. Not because this game is a begin of a whole universe (Fabula Nova Crystalis) inside the FF series, but mainly the character’s stories.
You get inside them so deeply that you can really feel all their joy, sad, struggle, happiness and sorrow moments. All their doubts, dilemma, faith and such. It’s so intense that, even finishing the game I cannot say which character is my favorite! And I confess it was the first Final Fantasy that I cried.

And now the musics. The orchestrated and with Latin choir ones are epics, with a great impact in some situations. All the character’s theme reflects who they are (you can check out some of them here in my description later)… Was this game that makes me feel respect for Masashi Hamauzu, instantly becoming one of my favorite composers ever.

So now I’ve said my opinion about the game, it’s time to tell my reasons for choosing this Random Doom characters! Alongside this I’ll give the link for the Article in the Final fantasy Wikia (to know more about them, read about their personalities will help you very much to understand why of my choices! ^^) and themes of each character. I recommend you to listen the theme of the character while you read the reason. You will not regret!

Lighting “Clarie” Farron: Veruka ( Lightning’s Article ) and Theme )
For those who are familiar with the Final Fantasy XIII know Lightning is the obvious choice for Veruka make a cosplay. Both share similarities in their personalities: They’re very serious when the situation calls, but have a golden heart and a caring side, not to mention both have a leader’s aura covering them and get upset easily. In the battles I always imagine Veruka being a fast fighter and we don’t have doubts how fast and acrobat Lightning can be. Other factor that helps me making this choice is the Relationship Lightning has with Snow and the special carrying she has with Hope is just like Veruka and Napoleon and Ross, respectly.
About the cosplay, Wayne tried to make as similar as possible with Lightning’s original military outfit. Veruka complained a little when she had to take off all her armor and her hair styled by Wayne all the time. And look! She even changes the fire’s color and how she did to make this “fall” like this? Wayne’s secret, sorry, guys.
Ah, about the tail: it’s hind under her shirt.

Snow Villiers: Napoleon ( Snow’s Article and Theme )
I have to tell something…
From all the characters here, who seems to be more like a FF/RD character is Napoelon and Snow! Seriously, they’re too much alike!
Both shares a very similar personality, brave and stubborn, Snow’s battle style and how he runs is just like I imagine Napoleon does and Snow’s Theme just reminds me Napoleon! And, if you ask me who should be Napoleon’s voice actor in the RD animation, I’d choose Troy Baker, the same of Snow. Ah, Snow’s relationship with his fiancée, Serah, is just like Napoleon and Cotton: the sugar-and-honey couple ever. I do need to say anything more? The only thing they are different is the heroic-ego of Snow and he is kinder than Napoleon (he doesn’t like to pick fights without necessity).
To make this cosplay it was a hard decision, but Wayne decided to remove the boots from Snow and, with help of Cotton, he removed his float, in order to keep the harmony between Snow and Napoleon (not to mention Napoleon complain a lot to use this) but, despite the material, it wasn’t so hard to make this one.

Sazh Katzroy: Vincent ( Sazh’s Article and Theme )
This one was a little hard, but I choose to follow “the comic factor” that Sazh bring to us!
Even so, in the serious moments and the frighten of getting inside of fierce situations reminds me Vincent, even this doesn’t having a little kid to take care… and, trust me, he got one of the most tense moments in the whole game, give a break for the old man.
The cosplay was kind easy…hard was to hatch a Torchic Egg and find a micro one to plays the Chocobo chick inside the farm. xD And the little fella doesn’t seem to be happy with Vincent, poor Lucario.

Serah Farron: Cotton ( Serah’s Article ) and the Promise ) “Hey! That’s not Serah’s theme!” Psiu! I hate the vocals, so just pick up the instrumental version which still awesome.
Well, like the relationship between Lightning and Snow is pretty clear, Cotton cannot be other than the sweet-heart Lightning’s sister and Snow’s fiancée Serah! I can totally imagine Cotton having all the kind and sorrow Serah got before the Purge beings and turning into a crystal. And with a sugar-and-honey relationship with Napoleon, just helps even more.
About the cosplay Wayne got problems to find the clothe of her jacket, to create a totally unique model of “All-star-like” shoes for Cotton, not to mention all the work Wayne haded to make her hair, put the socks… And by the request of the cosplayer, she wants to keep the Soothe Bell as the collar and Wayne just make a few adjustments to reminds Serah’s marriage collar.

Hope Estheim: Ross ( Hope’s Article and Theme )
Another easy-win choice. In the being of the game Hope shows as a very timid boy from the comfortable city, until the fate put him inside all this situation. One of the reasons was the relationship he get with Vanille and, even more important, the feelings Hope has about Snow even more when he’s responsible for the death of his mother during the Purge.
Other thing is how is Ross’ relationship with Veruka: both are not pleased with a “certain Napoleon” (both Lightning and Hope have some “grudge feeling” for Snow) and, in a certain part the game Lightning and Hope are the only ones in the party and Lightning “babysit” Hope in her way, but in the deep Hope is like a little brother, just like the relationship Veruka has with Ross.
Again, in order to keep the qualities of both character and the Pokémon Wayne needed to take off the shoes but thankfully all the other accessories fits with Ross. Maybe it’s a little hot, but thanks the summer is already over!

Oerba Dia Vanille: Saria ( Vanille’s Article and The Sunleth Waterscape ) “Hey! That’s not Vanille’s theme!” STFU! This musics reminds me more Vanille, not to mention ker theme is too melancholic for the moment.
Well, who else could be the all smile-and-sunshine from the game unless Saria?! Both are all-cheer-up characters, always trying to giving strength for the group and try to think positive. Even when sometimes Vanille needs to create huge lies, it always to protect those who she loves.
For the cosplay Wayne got really difficult to dress a quadruped Pokémon, even more with such clothes, accessories and such. And, even more, the cosplay needed to be done before the Spring ends, when Saria’s leafs change the color to be similar to Vanille’s hair, making this even more realistic and natural!

Oerba Dia Fang: … ( Fang’s Article and Theme )

Yes, my darlings! I chose…Veruka’s mother!
The hardest choice I’ve done in this whole project! Took me months until find someone with some similarity with Fang! All the girls from the main role of RD doesn’t fits very well with the kind of woman Fang is, even the minors one are far away from this.
When I was losing the hopes, I review what kind of character Fang is and I realized how serene expression she has…that’s reminds me a certain Infernape that share the same expression… Physically saying both are very old, comparing the main characters and are a bit taller than Lightning and Veruka. Tetsuya Nomura once said Fang is stronger than Lightning and a wild fearlessness version of her… I can’t say the same about Veruka’s mother, since we’re lack of informations. But even being that “wild” and a little stubborn sometimes, I still can totally imagine her mother as Fang.
So, about the cosplay…remember Veruka needs to remove her armor to fits properly in Lightning’s outfit? Well, it seems Wayne think it was better for the combinations keep them (or borrow Veruka’s armor? We’ll never know for sure rsrs…) and, since having such body human-like it was very easy to make the clothes and look! The same effect in Veruka’s flames was used here! And, since Fangs outfit has a more “wild” appearance, Wayne didn’t mind to let Veruka’s mother with the tail how she wants. And one last curiosity: The lance. In the blade’s part it’s written the name of the wielder in Pulsian language…By order of the cosplayer, Wayne just engraved “Mater”, which means “Mother” in Latin! Am I smart or not?

*phew* Well, that’s all I have to say about this! Hope you have enjoy it and, if you read until here, all I can say is congratulations for having such patient, sorry for taking so long from your precious time and thank you for not being a “tl;dr” follower!

Finally I done! My entry for Costume Contest!

Right below I’ll not only talk about my decision of each character, like I’m going to give my opinion about the Final Fantasy XIII game and a very extended explanation.

First of all, about the game.
