-Type of Infected: Smoker

-How they interact with other students/teach/work: Talkative only when he needs to be, dislikes close contact from other people. He takes his job seriously and tries his best to teach students the differences between good and bad survivors/ infected, what forms of attack would be the best in a specific situation, and how to avoid being hurt or killed. He knows almost everything about each type of infected and creates worksheets to best suit each infected, one version for the Boomers, one for Chargers, one for Hunters and so on. He also seems to have an interest in the thrown objects Survivors use, though he absolutely despises pipe bombs, armed or not. Deryl is actually very fond of children, stating how he wished he had been able to have his own before his girlfriend was cr0wned, (he dated a Witch in the Swamps once, he's was vengeful and depressed for a long while after she was killed and has not dated since and has recently gotten over his depression ).

-Personality: Deryl is calm, quiet and an is often in thought, sometimes spending hours deep inside his own mind. He's inquisitive and curious about all there is to know, is often seen with his nose in a book or with his hands folded and resting his chin on his fingers. Prior to the infection, Deryl would often be seen volunteering at an animal shelter, or studying military tactics used by famous military leaders in the past at his local library. Deryl seemed especially interested in Napoleon's tactics, often he used them in the swamps ( he modified them slightly, which proved to be a success, though they didnt always work) He absolutely hates being around things he finds "disgusting". This germaphobia developed after he came into contact with infected bodies, and was also how he became infected. Deryl has a very strict "personal space" bubble, he really dislikes people getting incredibly close to him, so he's often percieved to have a thick shell, a tough nut to crack. Deryl will sometimes pick down at his appearance, calling himself a "toad". He's probably not very happy with how he currently looks, and will occasionally fish for compliments, just to boost his self esteem.
Family: He is unsure whether or not his parents are still alive, or if they've become infected, he hasnt heard from them since a few days before the infection struck. He does consider one person to be like a brother to him, Roski. Deryl teases Roski playfully about his mistakes and he watches over him to make sure he doesnt get into any trouble. He and Roski fight occasionally and it usually results in Roski being nearly choked to death or Deryl needing multiple stitches and new clothes. Their fights are now demonstrations to students in their class, though they still nearly kill each other.
Background: He used to volunteer at an animal shelter and help take care of them. He was often teased for having a brilliant mind in his childhood, but more often for his two front teeth, which he chipped after tripping over the bodies that infected him. He was actually teased for everything, his height, how lanky he was, just everything about him, so he usually just hid and read a book. Before applying to LFMS, he would create ambush plans for his fellow infected in the Swamps to attack survivors, despite absolutely hating every second he lived there. While living in the swamps, he dated a Witch by the name Elliot, who was blind and needed to be around him constantly, for protection and mostly because Deryl never wanted to leave her side. The day she was killed by Survivors, it really hit him hard, causing him to go on a viscious survivor-killing rampage, any survivor he found, armed, disarmed, young or old, he strangled to death, he had no mercy for any survivor he came by. He regrets these actions more than anything he's done.

-Likes/Dislikes
Likes: Books, "intelligent" conversation, planning ideas and such, collecting bullet shells he finds.
Dislikes: Close contact(unless its on his own free will), flies, things he deems as "disgusting", loud noises such as explosions or very close thunder (makes him jump and it snaps him out of thought abruptly )
Extra: He used to comb sugar through his hair to appeal to Witches in the Swamps so they would allow him to guide them into place for his Survivor ambush, and the scent seeped into his hair, so he has a faint trace of sugar eminating from him. He sometimes goes Fishing (dangling his tongue over a building and waiting for a curious survivor to inspect it ) to entertain himself.

Deryl is incredibly ticklish, so that could be another reason why he dislikes people close to him
Prior to the infection, Deryl had a few health problems, such as asthma
After the infection, Deryl's hair appeared to nearly stop growing altogether, but he did gain a bit of facial hair while living in the swamps for 3 years, once reaching Pennsylvania, he shaved his face clean again
Deryl wasnt a very good runner to start with, he is very lucky he did not come into any contact with live infected when he was still uninfected
Deryl used to smoke as a teenager, which was terrible for his asthma, but once he reached his college years, he quit (this is a possible reason why he became a Smoker instead of a very tall common infected)
Deryl might not look like it, but he absolutely adores children
While living in the Swamps with Roski, he contracted Rhinosporidosis, possibly from the clear stream he would get his water from, he sneezes blood due to this, but was reluctant to recieve medical attention for a while, and has recently learned what he has
Deryl worked in a shelter for animals before the infection, he wonders occasionally if some of the animals were able to escape
Deryl dated a Witch named Elliot in the swamps, he was always by her side for anything, until a Tank got riled up over upcoming survivors and caused a panic, scattering everyone and separating Elliot from Deryl, where she was shot and killed by a group of survivors
Deryl excretes smoke based on how he currently feels: Anger = thick smog that fills up the entire room, embarrassment = light green puffs, startlement = a huge cloud of smoke explodes from him.
Deryl regrets his actions of revenge in the swamps
Deryl was unsocial prior to the infection, usually hiding in a library or his house, the only time he really talked was when he was around animals at the shelter, and that was more baby talking to them
