Anywaay~.. well, this is only a rough sketch.. but if you like it, then I'll color it digitally..! And, well, to say that I tried to avoid exposing much of her.. what could you 'hide' under that vest anyway..? she's already showing more than half of her body there..! And yes, she's holding a megaphone, so yeah she is a lifeguard.. yes the cap is too a lifeguard accessory..! Ahahahahah..! But no, I did nothing, it's Adagio herself that shows her beauty..! Still, if anything, it's all thanks to the EG staff..! Well, the vest, the swimsuit top, and eve the pose is generic.. I did nothing special..! And about the hair, wow.. I thought I messed it up.. you can see how lazy I am from her hair there..! I did no justice, I barely even did it only water..! pff- eheheheh.. get it..? And, what detail..? All I see is a flat sketch, really..! But about the face.. well.. it's a face she pull off when interacting with Sonata.. so yeah that's her expression, alright.. ahahahah..!
Well, this sketch is not final.. who knows, maybe I'd change it then.. But well, no worries..! Right now all I can do is pencil sketch, and I don't know when I can finally return to digital sketch.. so take your time..!

I'm happy you got to sleep at least a bit.
Of course I like it. I love it. And her, despite everything. It would be wonderful to see it coloured. Yes, she's showing much of her body exposed, but Sonata certainly showed more, so I'm comparing her to that. As for your part, you depicted Adagio here, so all the execution of Adagio showing her beauty is on you! That is, all the thanks for it too! I don't care if the elements of the picture themselves are generic - the combination and execution is what matters here! All those beautiful details. And the hair, well, it's unfinished yet, just a trial sketch. And yep, good job putting her into her proper expression and mood.
You mentioning water and hair in one phrase there made me think of Adagio with wet hair... not straight, but still wavy and curly, like when Pinkie has a wet mane in S3/4. Those thoughts and mental images... they bring such a delicious pain.

The details are the same kind that were in your Sunset sketch. The pencil shadow work and shading. That, and the way you depict how cloth folds and rests, is all beautiful.
And yes, I got that... after some time, admittedly. I guess I'm slower on these things than I should be. And... you would do that for me? Oh, I would be grateful indeed... Wet-hair Adagio would be so gorgeous.
I'm sure you'll meet my expectations and possibly exceed them. And it'd be lovely if you augmented those. Time is indeed not an issue, no matter how long you take - you know that I might, most likely, take much longer with making something on my own end.

Well, you're right in saying that I probably wouldn't have nearly as much interest in your work if it weren't pony. Some artists hate it, but I hope you don't mind. In fact, you drawing pony things (or, currently, EqG ones) in your way is unique - if it weren't pony, it would've hardly stood out from other similar styles. So, I suppose, there's this element that I haven't been mentioning much - your drawings are this good for me because of the pony element making them stand out.
The folds are not really that random or unrealistic, though. They're pretty nice. That's mostly how cloth folds anyway.
Whichever way you prefer to go about it, I'll be looking forward to it. Do whichever works best for you.
And well, I know I expect a picture of Adagio done by you. How it will be is up to you. I only expect it to be on par with your other drawings, which have been quite beautiful so far.
And thank you for your generosity! As for collabs, well, I've only seen one, and... well, they didn't seem like they knew what they were talking about to me specifically, as in, maybe they expected my uploaded commissions to be my work. And, obviously, they aren't, they're stuff I commissioned before (and not all of it either; I actually forgot some of my commissions). I'm not exactly popular or anything, and there's not too much reason for me to be.

Particularly since much of it has come not from the show, but from early fan interpretations of what was then basically a blank slate.

I see. Well, as I said, I like her and don't hate her, myself. I like her canon self much more than what many fans prefer to interpret her as, though. It just feels to me they're ascribing to her many different traits that she doesn't show actual signs of possessing - that is not so say she cannot be that way, only that she has shown no indication she might be and has largely been in a way that would not be fit for them. I prefer Luna, not Magical Teen Gaming Waifu. So no, I don't hate her. Still, what you say is true enough, at least unless a character is hated for not being alive enough. Case in point, the "enemy" principal in Friendship Games - they sure made her to be alive, and she is there as a hate sink as well. Particularly if one's dealt with such characters in their life too.

I know nothing about that, some who interpret Luna differently and give her any trait she doesn't show she has and won't fit her.. I mean, like what, for example..? She's acting cute, since you mentioned "waifu"..? Ah well, it doesn't really matter actually.. so, no can do, let's just forget about it..!
Again, like I said in another chain, the character feels alive means they feel real.. real enough for anyone to love or hate them, whether the status is still alive or already deceased in their story..!

The problem I have with that interpretation of Luna (it can be collated into a single one, despite individual differences) is that it completely ignores her actual canon personality post-Luna Eclipsed. It's not cute things, no, although sometimes it does play a part. They basically portray her as a kind of wild child with not a care in the world who spends all the time playing games when she's not feeling those teen mood swings and bouts of attention-horsing and wanting admiration for being that way, and being unjustly and evilly mistreated by her oh so villainous sister, who happens to be an authority figure standing in for parents. It just completely disregards who she is and rewrites her entire character based on some people's own personal lives and dream ideas of what kind of girl they'd like to be with/just be. So it's a case of people inserting themselves or their idea of personal paradise (playing games all day, all night, all their lives and being admired for it) into a character and completely overriding the actual character's personality, a mix of character breaking and self-insert.
Though, I admit, there is another version that I cannot stand just as much and can't be directly boiled down to that, though it's related - basically portraying Luna as unjustly victimized and antagonized by Celestia or just plain everyone, in a form of "everybody just doesn't understand!" teen self-expression/self-insert. It's what I referred to originally, things like when Celestia completely destroys half the world and brutally murders Luna for being cheered on the streets by the citizens in Celestia's own presence, or where Luna is apparently being chased by Celestia's army seeking to do the same for no visible reason - not Nightmare Moon, but the normal Luna. Thankfully, though, it's been on the low since Luna's appearances from S3 onward.
You're happy if you know nothing about that, then. I've had to deal with it far too much for my own taste.
And yes, that's what it means for a character to feel alive - by far not every work accomplishes that. The character being lifelike and acting like a real person is a very big thing for me, and pony has it for all the characters in its focus.

Ooh! A Luna from you would be quite fun to see. Perhaps you could try a pony one, or do a human Luna instead - the lady who knocked me out two times over by now. In any case, she would be interesting to see indeed. For the record, I haven't found anything to disapprove of in your depictions of Luna to date - they were either fitting or humorous and thus running on their own rules.

Well, to be fair, Vice Principal Luna is fairly close to normal Luna in behaviour. Maybe she's nicest to little kids compared to any other kind of people, like Luna is to CMC. You could draw that - always a crowd pleaser, and also a good feature of her onscreen portrayal starting as early as Luna Eclipsed.

True, thatβs essentially the idea with their traits being similar yet the people/ponies being different. As for how sheβs been Luna-like β sheβs been acting from the background, but making rather decisive moves which ended up altering the course events in a major way, namely knocking Starbright out two times in a row and sending out the search parties; in her few appearances, sheβs been very direct and quite emotionally detached, even though it is apparent she has emotions. And with her sister (are they sisters in the human world? I donβt know if they ever said anything about it in any official material), sheβs more open and personal.
If you wish to use the things I hate, then you would choose well to take the βGamer Lunaβ (essentially a hormone-high teenager bent on playing games who gets princess immunity and treatment anyway) and βVictim Lunaβ (the poor, beautiful and unjustly persecuted and hurt princess) types and roll them into one.
Speaking of that, you could combine Gamer Luna, Hunted Luna and Vice City. That was a good game for its time; I remember having lots and lots of fun with its cheat codes and using them to play it my way.

And yes, Celestia maintains a public presence even though her important machinations are usually in the shadows and behind closed doors, while Luna stays in the shadows and is in public fairly rarely in comparison and acts from them as well, though sometimes it brings her out into public. At least itβs normally that way β sometimes Luna also acts in public, but so far she hasnβt done much of that. It wouldnβt be out of character for her, but she doesnβt try to be welcoming to ponies/people, unlike Celestia. (Though, to be fair, Principal Celestia sounded so terribly overworked that it was less welcoming and more βshe needs a hug and a vacationβ.)

And yes, it is! I miss GTA games having cheats like Vice City and San Andreas did, I really do. The new way is fancy, sure, but it lacks the dynamism and the ability to chain cheats in tricky situations. After all, in those games you can have an entire cheat-based gameplay that plays somewhat like a wide-open-sandbox Garryβs Mod. Which also doesnβt conflict with the actual missions/story, as you can play those without engaging cheats and then go crazy in between them for a change of pace.

Yeah, 5 is more online than offline and it's sometimes bothersome, even. I spent hundreds if not thousands of hours playing San Andreas in this mode, really - I did everything there was to do, from high-altitude battles using boats made to float upwards with the bumping cheat to going around the entire map on a bicycle in riot mode with full wanted levels. I guess the latter is still possible in 5, but it wouldn't be nearly as fun nor last nearly as long without cheats to reset health and armor and such.
Hay, if anything, I could get behind adding a "no stats" mode to 5 where you could still play online, but with people who also have that mode on only, and be able to cheat around with them instead of doing it all RPG-style. I think that'd be plenty popular, myself.

After some interaction with the student, Luna starts playing games.. But her playing games gets her popularity among the students, to which Celestia seems to be disliking it for some reason..! So then Celestia starts charging some complicated tasks to Luna.. while it makes Luna quite exhausted, she's still able to do it perfectly, and able to do some gaming sessions with the students still..! Then, Celestia enacts a new rule, that everyone, including the staff, is forbidden to bring any gadget to school and just use what the school has provided.. yet Luna and the students are still talking about the games they're playing..! Things happen, Celestia then confess to Luna, that with Luna been playing with the students all the time, she's feeling left out.. they use to do their school job together.. but with Luna gone, Celestia feels empty, even though both are doing their job perfectly as school principals..! Luna then clears the situation, saying that wherever she goes, no matter how far, she will always comes back to Celestia, because they're sisters..!
Ahahahaha.. yeah I spent quite a time playing San Andreas too..! Spawning cars with nitro, then causes a riot.. before finally making them all explode..! Ahahaha..! Oh wow.. why do I feel so bad now that I think about it..? Anyway, the mods are also making it even more fun..! Well, yeah, V is also fun for its multiplayer perks too..! Hahah..!

Hah, that's not even cliche. For it to be cliche, Luna would have to be violently expelled from her post or something. Though the "Luna is superior" thing is a definite trait of this, so I guess it makes up for that. If anything, what you ended up with is an "acceptable" version. Particularly the part with them making up.
I used to play GTA in this kind of sandbox mode before I got into MMOs, and then after, when I was bored or tired of them for one reason or another. Often, I played it in "point defense" mode - that is, I picked a point to defend on the map, like the top of a billboard or a low concrete wall, and shot from there. One time I spent an entire night up playing Vice City, defending behind a low wall next to the big shopping center in the southwest part of the map, sniping the maximum-wanted-level forces, even tanks. Though in San Andreas, I moved around a lot more because of how huge and open the map was in comparison. There, I also often played it in escape mode, that is, picked a vehicle or just grabbed one at random and tried to run away from riots and police in it across the map. Like the bicycle example above. Though, to be fair, in V it's possible to include mods that work like cheats and trainers, which kind of brings some of it back. Kind of like this . And at the same time, it makes things impossible before possible due to the moddability, like this . And yeah, it does kind of occur to you that going crazy in the game can feel wrong 'cause it's just a city and just people and police and stuff, but then again, in the GTA world, particularly 4 and 5, the game even goes out of the way to show every single person in the game as complete arses and monsters, if only via their telephone conversations and random actions.

Why, Sunbutt is Celestia! Same as Moonbutt is Luna and Starbutt is Twily. Rarity happens to be Gembutt. Pinkie is, fittingly enough, Balloonbutt. Fluttershy stays Flutterbutt, though. AJ is Applebutt. RD doesn't get a definitive term, though. But you get the idea, I'm sure.
And see, that's the point! You want and need good reasons (and, to me, that is so with good reason), while they don't. And that is their point. I'll use that example again - Celestia sees Luna getting cherished by the citizens, so she flies into a rage, makes the sun overload, somehow floods the world and kills over half its population, then locks Luna in a box and drowns her. Why? Because she's a psychotic egotistical tyrant bitch who gets off denying her sister any affection, of course. It doesn't matter that she's anything but in canon. Those people prefer it that way. It's not supposed to make logical sense, it's all about the emotional idea of that. As for "Luna is Superior", it's, of course, because in the proposed version Luna can handle anything thrown at her just fine; that's how the overblown Lunatics see it, that Luna is supposedly more talented and skilled than Celestia twice over, but Celestia just holds her back arbitrarily and doesn't let her develop/exercise/show her talents and skills. It's yet another facet of "Parents just don't understand!" teen rebellion bullshit, really. But yes, if anything, I would say this is not even bad, although it does still tickle me the wrong way 'cause of containing these things. I just hope you don't make it your AU's canon.

You aren't used to killing actual people - if you don't think so, try contemplating killing one of your acquaintances and you'll see what I mean. You know it's fake in games and you know it's real in the physical world, and there's, well, a world of difference. There're rare people who somehow can't see it, but those are truly rare freaks rather than the norm. That said, even in games, I try not to kill enemies when given the chance not to - I always play in "pacifist" or "clean hands" modes, as well as staying unseen whenever I can (though I also tend to knock out all the guards and hide them in places, if I can do that too). Why, when I livestreamed Dishonored earlier this year (I think it was this year, or maybe last year... I forget.), my stream was best remembered for "maid stacking" in the Boyle party level, 'cause I had to knock them out to move through there undisturbed without crashing the party.

Yep, that is how I make my story.. and yes, those school principals are based on my AU, that based on the series..! Skip to the "Luna is Superior" case, I don't think I actually implied something like that, let alone Luna is twice skilled than Celestia, in what I wrote there..! I did write Luna did her job perfectly even under pressure, but I didn't write she did it easily, let alone wrote that it was something Celestia could never do.. If anything, it is Celestia the one who's twice skilled than Luna, seeing how she could manage rotating both sun and moon for a thousand years just fine in the series..! But, well, if somehow you interpreted it that way.. then you'll just have to live with it.. it's your own interpretation, and I allow my viewers to interpret anything out of my work here..!

And, yeah, of course I know real world and in-game world..! But it's not about inability to differentiate the real and the fake world, it's about the simulation the fake world offers that much or less kind of has influence to the gamers..! If your example is to imagine killing one of my acquaintances, well of course I wouldn't want to do that.. but what if it's someone I have a grudge against..? Maybe I wouldn't feel so bad about it..? Ahahaha..! But, yeah, of course I know what you mean..! And yes, I like games like Dishonored.. that different path we choose in the game would also result different outcome..!

Well, 'course they are. And I suppose you're right - even though the people looking for it would still find it, the "Luna is Superior" bit, just because Celestia doesn't demonstrate her skill as well - and her doing that would not be necessary for the story. That said, you're kind that way.
I guess so. Still, what I find to be an absolute deterrent from what amounts to blurring the mental line between reality and simulation onscreen is that very normal "reality check" - imagining yourself doing the same in exacting detail, from the pain the victim would feel to the resistance their body would offer, and putting yourself in their place. If you aren't willing to go through with it, all good. If you are, something is very, very, extremely wrong. If it's someone you have a grudge against, I doubt it's going to be a very big one - one deserving stabbing them through the neck and watching them bleed out and clutch at you in horror and die before you, and then dealing with the aftermath of their friends and family irreparably hurt and police after you.
And sure, multiple-path games have always been fun. Though single-path games can be too, provided they're also well-executed.

Well, like you said on other chain comment, maybe it doesn't have that much of impact, like books, or even movies.. But, originally, I was talking about me, and me saying all that is because I kind of feel that way, that I'm starting to become numb about it.. What I wrote there, witnessing something terrible and horrible directly in front of me, really happened.. and back then, while I did feel sympathetic to the victim, I wasn't really horrified witnessing it happened in front of me.. I really feel sorry for myself..! But it's my own problem, and I promise you not to tell any more of my sob story..!
So, yes, multipath games are always fun, it's fun for me because I can replay it and choose different path..! But yes, single-path games are also fun to play too, I like to challenge myself by replaying such games differently..!

I'm sorry to hear something horrible like that happened to you, sweetest pirate... It always hurts me to hear things like that. *calls Princess Celestia to come in and hug you* But well, the thing is... if anything, it isn't wrong to not feel completely horrified - if anything, it's taken as a mark of strong character and bravery to take even the most horrible things in stride. Myself, I mostly narrowly avoided getting into such things, and the only cases I could call properly horrible or terrifying happened very early in my life and didn't involve loss of life and limb, though a high risk of that was indeed present. While I don't remember them, people tell me they did have an impact on me. Please, if it makes you feel any better - don't feel constrained, feel free to tell anything you like! But if it only makes you feel worse, there's no need - after all, we've agreed to keep secrets already.
