I unfortunately made the same experience. Many months ago I already reported one of the redist accounts when they sent me death threats, and it took weeks - WEEKS! with death threats involved - for them to react. And when they did they only deleted this one account and left the other obvious clones alone.

Aah.. yeah, that happens almost all the time..! I remember, like, more than three years ago when someone uploaded my drawing (with no edit whatsoever) into their gallery and claimed as their own.. A lot of people reported them, but no respond from the staff.. until I made some "official claim" letter, with my signature and stuff.. only then they started to take care of it, and took down the pic..! But it's only that.. as in, if that person uploaded another pic of mine, then I would've had to repeat the whole process again..!

And.. well.. it's maybe a bit bold to say this.. but, I think dA staff wouldn't (or maybe even couldn't) do anything to any person who does this..
Again, similar issue with yours, a friend of mine had that experience.. and dA staff was unable to do anything.. So, my friend then worked hard to find out who this person was, and then dragged that person to the court for restraining order..
Well, it did take my friend quite a lot of trouble doing all that.. but at the very least my friend got the problem solved..!

About DA, yeah it's terribly insecure. They don't even use HTTPS which is just ridiculous nowadays especially for such a large site.

Hahaha.. well, what I wrote there was basically something about politics..! I want to see clearly with my own eyes, in the animated series and not comic or any other spin-offs, that Celestia is wise, don't play favorites, and sole concern is for everyone (not just pony)..!
When you said "epic little show of power if the other party does not behave well".. that's what I'm really afraid of.. What does "behave well" like? What does being good, or even being evil like? Because, something that is considered "good" or "evil" by someone, might not quite so by someone else.. So, again, I'd really want to see how Celestia is going to mediate all that, and how wise she really is..!

I was thinking about a comedy fanfic I once read where Celestia was a wise and fair ruler and was in equal negotiations with gryphons who kept breaking word and making fun of the ponies and they also abandoned the negotiations time and time again for the silliest little reasons.
They pushed her so far that she eventually broke and made that little show of power that I mentioned but not to subdue them and force her will on them but to make them (although admittedly forced) return to the negotiation table.Β
