Description
#4 part of tutorial- Sewing your patternInstructions:
For those who are wondering, i did not end up dying my fur
like i said i would because i couldn't get the right colors of
koolaide to make brown. For some reason they didn't have
purple or yellow koolaide at my store :/. anyways....
I skipped that step and went right to sewing. If ur like me
and u don't know the first thing about sewing, i wouldn't
advise learning on faux fur, it's really difficult because it's so
thick and likes to move around a lot off of ur seam line
sooooo i got some parental help from my mother who is an
expert at sewing, so u'll see her sewing in the images
above. My tutorial doesn't really cover how to sew, i'm
assuming those who want make a tail already are familiar
with a sewing machine or have someone that is willing to
help you.
sorry i forgot to take pictures of when i hand sewed the
pieces together so that it wouldn't shift or when we sewed
the white tip on
onto the orange fur using large stitches, this is just to keep
their seams lined up when you go to use the sewing
machine. I tried just pinning them together, but the pins
weren't long enough and kept falling out
sure the seem comes out on what will be the inside of the
tail for both sides (doesn't have picture
individual sides of the tail separately, we are just sewing
the white tip pieces onto the orange pieces.
the sides because i had a lot of excess fabric around the
seem, and i was able to get any loose fur out later (will
show).
sides of ur tail, start hand sewing the two pieces together
like when you sew the white pieces on using large stitches,
when ur done, go to the sewing machine and sew ur seam
following ur traced line.
was that the two sides didn't quite match up, just follow the
side that is the smallest and can hopefully fit onto the other
piece, wasn't i glad that i left a lot of excess fur when i cut
it
:bulletoprange: Make sure u leave a big enough hole at the
end that is big enough to reach ur arm through, unless it's
a cat tail.. then u'll need to use a wire or something to push
the stuffing into later.
